Aaron Judge, Jonathan Loáisiga and Mark Leiter Jr., Yankees
Judge (right elbow flexor strain) is likely to start at designated hitter Aug. 5 in Texas, manager Aaron Boone said Aug. 4.
Loáisiga was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 3 with mid-back tightness.
Leiter (left fibular head stress fracture) threw 16 pitches in a Minor League rehab appearance for Double-A Somerset on Aug. 2 and could be activated during the Aug. 4-6 Texas series, although Boone said Leiter might make one more Minor League appearance.
Jacob Misiorowski, Sal Frelick and Shelby Miller, Brewers
Misiorowski was placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 3 with a left tibia contusion.
Frelick (left knee soreness) has been dealing with an issue with his surgically repaired left meniscus and was out of the lineup through Aug. 4 to give him time to rest.
Miller (right forearm strain) was placed on the 15-day IL by the D-backs on July 7. He has progressed to throwing live BP.
Austin Riley, Chris Sale, Reynaldo López and Grant Holmes, Braves
Riley exited the MLB Speedway Classic on Aug. 3 with lower abdominal discomfort after stretching to make a tag. He was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 4 with a lower abdominal strain.
Sale (fractured rib cage) threw his first bullpen session since the injury on Aug. 4.
López (right shoulder inflammation) recently resumed playing catch, per an Aug. 4 update.
Holmes (right elbow inflammation) will likely miss the remainder of the 2025 season but for the time being will proceed with non-surgical rehabilitation.
Isaac Paredes and Yordan Alvarez, Astros
Paredes (right hamstring strain) has chosen not to undergo surgery, and the Astros are hopeful that with rest and rehab he may return in 2025.
Alvarez (right hand fracture) will take batting practice on the field in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Aug. 5.
Grayson Rodriguez and Ryan Mountcastle, Orioles
Rodriguez (right elbow inflammation/right lat strain) will undergo elbow debridement surgery and miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
Mountcastle (right hamstring strain), originally expected to return during the Orioles' Aug. 4-6 series against the Phillies, has had his probable return delayed to the end of the week.
Michael King and Joe Musgrove, Padres
King (right shoulder/long thoracic nerve injury) pitched 3 1/3 innings in a Triple-A rehab start on Aug. 3, allowing six runs while striking out five. Manager Mike Shildt said on Aug. 4 that he would "put it in dark pencil" that King's next start would come with the big league club.
Musgrove (Tommy John surgery) threw his first formal bullpen session, all fastballs, on Aug. 2.
Tommy Edman and Roki Sasaki, Dodgers
Edman (right ankle sprain) was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 4.
Sasaki (right shoulder impingement) faced hitters for the second time on Aug. 2, throwing two simulated innings in Arizona.
Roman Anthony, Liam Hendriks, Marcelo Mayer and Tanner Houck, Red Sox
Anthony was scratched just minutes before first pitch on Aug. 4 with mid-back tightness. He appeared to tweak his back during pregame stretching exercises.
Manager Alex Cora said recently he didn't think Hendriks (right hip inflammation) would pitch again this season, but the righty told multiple reporters on Aug. 4 that he absolutely expects to return.
Mayer (right wrist sprain) had an injection on his ailing wrist, and the Red Sox should have an idea by Aug. 5 or so if it helped. If not, there's a chance Mayer misses the rest of the season.
Houck will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Hunter Greene, Reds
Greene (right groin strain) threw 66 pitches (42 strikes) over 3 1/3 innings in his Aug. 3 rehab start with Triple-A Louisville. Manager Terry Francona said Greene will throw another outing on Aug. 8, aiming to get to 80 pitches.
Jake Burger, Rangers
Burger (left quad strain) took live batting practice at Globe Life Field on Aug. 4. He could be activated later in the Rangers' homestand, which runs through Aug. 13.
Jameson Taillon, Cubs
Taillon threw 64 pitches in three innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits with one strikeout, in a rehab start on Aug. 3 with Triple-A Iowa. He came out of it healthy and will make at least one more rehab start before rejoining the Cubs.
Shane Bieber and George Springer, Blue Jays
Bieber made his first rehab start with a Blue Jays affiliate on Aug. 3 at Triple-A Buffalo. He struck out six over five innings of two-run ball while throwing 47 of his 62 pitches for strikes.
Springer was placed on the 7-day concussion IL on Aug. 1, retroactive to July 29. He has been participating in baseball activities and the Blue Jays are hopeful he can return as soon as he is eligible.
Seth Halvorsen, Rockies
Halvorsen was diagnosed with a mild right flexor strain after leaving the Rockies' game on Aug. 2.
Alec Bohm, Phillies
Bohm (left rib fracture) is taking ground balls and hitting in the cage and is nearing a rehab assignment.
Reese Olson, Tigers
Olson (right shoulder strain) will not require surgery and hopes to return to pitch in the 2025 playoffs.
Wilmer Flores, Giants
Flores (left hamstring tightness) departed the Giants' win over the Mets on Aug. 1 after feeling his hamstring tighten up while legging out an infield single. Flores remained out of the starting lineup through Aug. 4, but the Giants don't believe he will require an IL stint.
Miguel Vargas and Chase Meidroth, White Sox
Vargas was placed on the injured list with a left oblique strain on Aug. 3.
Meidroth was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning July 30 and stayed in the game, but was replaced at second by Lenyn Sosa in the top of the sixth. X-rays were negative but he remained out of the lineup through Aug. 3.
