Injury: Hip inflammation
IL date: March 27 (15-day IL; transferred to 60-day IL on May 30)
Expected return: Possibly August
Status: Struck out four batters over two innings with a solo home run allowed in a rehab start for High-A West Michigan on July 29. Tentatively scheduled to make another rehab start with West Michigan on Aug. 3. “He got through his outing successfully, which is a good sign,” manager A.J. Hinch said. “He managed himself through those two innings, I think sometimes felt good, sometimes didn’t.” (Updated July 30)
RHP Alex Lange
Injury: Recovery from lat surgery
IL date: Feb. 12 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly early August
Status: Tossed a scoreless inning with a hit and a strikeout in his latest rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo on July 29. Will pitch again for Mud Hens this weekend, then try pitching on consecutive days. “He’s starting to feel like himself, which is good,” Hinch said. “I think the stuff was back, and he was much more consistent around the strike zone, which is a big sign.” (Updated July 30)
RHP Sawyer Gipson-Long
Injury: Neck stiffness
IL date: July 2 (15-day IL, retroactive to June 29)
Expected return: August
Status: Completed latest bullpen session on July 29. Will need multiple bullpens before resuming rehab assignment, possibly next week. Returned from rehab assignment after struggling in a rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on July 18. (Updated July 29)
RHP José Urquidy
Injury: Recovery from Tommy John surgery
IL date: March 8 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly late August
Status: Scheduled to throw next session of live batting practice on July 30. Will throw several more sessions before beginning a rehab assignment in early August. (Updated July 29)
RHP Reese Olson
Injury: Right shoulder strain
IL date: July 28
Expected return: Possibly postseason
Status: Reported shoulder discomfort after bullpen session on July 26. Initial tests indicated strain. Scheduled for further evaluation on July 29 to determine extent. (Updated July 28) More >>

Injury: Right quad strain
Expected return: Possibly August
Status: Left game on July 27 after looking awkward moving around in center field. Tigers hope they caught the injury early enough to avoid a lengthy absence. (Updated July 28)
LHP Sean Guenther
Injury: Left hip surgery

Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent left hip arthroscopic surgery in June. Recalled from Triple-A Toledo and added to 60-day injured list on July 6 to open a 40-man roster spot. (Updated July 6)
RHP Jackson Jobe
Injury: Right flexor strain

Injury: Dislocated right shoulder
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery after dislocating his shoulder diving back to first base in a June 3 game for Single-A Lakeland. Expected to be a full participant in Spring Training next year. (Updated June 6)
