Stay up-to-date with all the latest news on injured players across Major League Baseball.

Tarik Skubal, Javier Báez and Kyle Finnegan, Tigers

Skubal was pulled from his Sept. 12 start with left side tightness. Tests came back clean and he is currently expecting to make his next start as scheduled.

Báez, who fouled a ball off his forehead on Sept. 12, is dealing with facial bruising and swelling but cleared all concussion tests. He is day to day.

Finnegan (right adductor strain) is playing catch daily and both he and the club are optimistic he will be able to return as soon as he is eligible on Sept. 16. He could throw a bullpen session this weekend in Miami.

Will Smith, Max Muncy, Roki Sasaki, Dalton Rushing and Brock Stewart, Dodgers

Ten days after taking a foul tip off his right hand in Pittsburgh, Smith was placed on the injured list on Sept. 13 with a bone bruise.

Muncy was struck on the right side of his head by a 94.1 mph sinker from Giants left-hander Matt Gage in the top of the sixth inning of the Sept. 13 game. While Muncy was replaced in the field in the bottom half of the inning, he is expected to be fine, but was out of the lineup on Sept. 14.

Sasaki (right shoulder impingement) will make at least one more Triple-A start after dealing with a minor calf issue in his most recent appearance.

Rushing (right shin contusion) began a rehab assignment with Oklahoma City on Sept. 11, playing nine innings at catcher.

Stewart (right shoulder inflammation) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City during the week of Sept. 15.

Jose Altuve, Lance McCullers Jr. and Luis Garcia, Astros

Altuve exited in the third inning of the Sept. 13 game against the Braves with right foot discomfort, a move the Astros said was precautionary after the game. He remained out of the lineup on Sept. 14.

McCullers has been placed on the injured list for the fourth time this season after experiencing right hand soreness following his Sept. 11 start.

Garcia (right elbow discomfort) was transferred to the 60-day IL on Sept. 12, effectively ending his 2025 season.

Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Edmundo Sosa, Jordan Romano and José Alvarado, Phillies

Turner (right hamstring strain) is expected to hit off a tee on Sept. 14. The Phillies remain hopeful he can return before the postseason.

Bohm (left shoulder inflammation) is expected to return as soon as he is eligible on Sept. 18.

Sosa left the Phillies' Sept. 12 game with right groin tightness. The team is hopeful he can return on Sept. 16 in Los Angeles.

Romano (right middle finger inflammation/neck stiffness) was unable to throw his scheduled Sept. 13 bullpen session due to neck stiffness and numbness in his finger.

Alvarado was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 12 with a left forearm strain. Because he's ineligible for the postseason due to his previous suspension, his 2025 season is over.

Owen Caissie, Kyle Tucker, Daniel Palencia and Michael Soroka, Cubs

Caissie was placed on the seven-day concussion list after a collision with the outfield wall on Sept. 13.

Tucker (left calf strain) has continued to do hitting and throwing but will hold off on running until Sept. 15 at the earliest, per manager Craig Counsell.

Palencia (right shoulder strain) felt good after playing light catch on Sept. 12. He was expected to test things out again on Sept. 13 before the Cubs discussed next steps.

Soroka (right shoulder strain) made a rehab appearance for Triple-A Iowa on Sept. 11. His next appearance is expected to come with the Cubs.

Nolan Arenado and Masyn Winn, Cardinals

Arenado (right shoulder strain) is set to return to St. Louis to rejoin the Cardinals on Sept. 15. He went 1-for-13 in four games with Double-A Springfield.

Winn will be shut down for the remainder of the season due to lingering pain in his right knee after he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery in the offseason and should be ready for 2026.

Dominic Smith and Carson Whisenhunt, Giants

Smith was placed on the injured list on Sept. 14 with a right hamstring strain.

Whisenhunt (back strain) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento this week.

Blaze Alexander, D-backs

Alexander was hit by a pitch in the left forearm/elbow area in the fourth inning of the Sept. 14 game by Bailey Ober. He stayed in to run the bases, but was removed in the bottom half.

Tyler Mahle, Chris Martin and Corey Seager, Rangers

Mahle (right shoulder fatigue) will make his next start with the Rangers.

Martin left the game on Sept. 13 in the bottom of the eighth inning because of tingling in his right hand. He was seen shaking his hand in pain as he exited. Manager Bruce Bochy said Martin's injury is not considered serious.

Seager, who is recovering from an appendectomy, is able to rotate his body, which will enable the Rangers to speed up his progression. The club is hopeful that he will be back in the lineup for its final homestand, which begins on Sept. 19.

Wilyer Abreu and Liam Hendriks, Red Sox

Abreu (right calf strain) is expected to return for the Sept. 16-18 series against the Athletics.

Hendriks recently developed right forearm soreness while rehabbing his right hip inflammation and is likely out for the year.

Xander Bogaerts, Padres

Bogaerts (left foot non-displaced fracture) took ground balls, tracked pitches from live arms and swung in the cage on Sept 13. He is getting closer to continuing his rehab in Arizona, per manager Mike Shildt.

Carlos Estévez, Cole Ragans, Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha, Royals

Estévez left in his Sept. 14 outing with mild back tightness.

Ragans (left rotator cuff strain) threw 56 pitches in his second rehab start with Triple-A Omaha on Sept. 12 and will be evaluated for a potential return in the week of Sept. 15.

Lugo (low back strain) threw his first bullpen session on Sept. 12 and will have another on Sept. 15 before potentially returning.

Wacha (concussion) has been throwing and only expects to miss one start.

Trevor Rogers, Jordan Westburg and Gary Sánchez, Orioles

Rogers left his Sept. 12 start with left toe discomfort stemming from a blood blister under his toenail. He is expected to make his next start as scheduled.

Westburg (right ankle strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Sept. 12.

Sánchez (right knee sprain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Sept. 10. He is expected to play about two weeks of rehab games before returning.

Anthony Volpe, Yankees

Volpe (partially torn left labrum) will likely not play at all in the series against the Red Sox at Fenway Park after receiving a cortisone injection to treat his ailing left shoulder.

Tyler Soderstrom and Denzel Clarke, Athletics

Soderstrom remained out of the lineup through Sept. 14 after being a late scratch on Sept. 12 due to groin tightness.

Clarke (right adductor strain) will go to Arizona the week of Sept. 15 to continue rehab. He attempted to run the bases on Sept. 12, but felt discomfort running down the first-base line.

Yoán Moncada, Zach Neto, Travis d'Arnaud and Reid Detmers, Angels

Moncada exited in the fifth inning of the Sept. 14 game against the Mariners with left ankle soreness.

Neto (left wrist soreness) re-aggravated the injury, originally sustained on an Aug. 20 hit by pitch, and was out of the lineup from Sept. 12 to 14.

d'Arnaud was placed on the 7-day concussion IL on Sept. 12 after being hit on the mask by a backswing the day before.

Detmers was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 11 with left elbow inflammation and transferred to the 60-day IL on Sept. 12. He underwent an MRI exam on Sept. 11 and is getting a second opinion.

Christopher Morel and Ryan Pepiot, Rays

During his fifth-inning at-bat on Sept. 14, Morel fouled off a ball that ricocheted and hit him in the abdomen. He stayed in for one half-inning of defense before being removed in the sixth.

Pepiot was scratched from his start on Sept. 10 due to general body fatigue, but threw a 10-15 pitch bullpen Sept. 13 and came out feeling “back to normal.”
