Injury: Left knee pain
Expected return: This week
Status: Trout jammed his knee trying to leg out a ground ball on April 30. He went out to right field the next inning, but felt discomfort jogging and was lifted for a pinch-hitter his next at-bat. Postgame, Trout was hopeful he wouldn't miss much time. (updated April 30) More>>
3B Yoán Moncada
Injury: Right thumb sprain
IL date: April 10 (10-day IL)
Expected return: Early May
Status: Moncada aggravated an existing thumb injury during an at-bat on April 9 and was put on the IL the next day. He has been able to swing from the right side and field grounders the whole time, and has begun hitting front toss in the cage from the left side. (updated April 30)
RHP Ben Joyce
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
IL date: April 11 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly May
Status: Joyce is "moving along, slowly", according to manager Ron Washington, and did not travel with the Angels on their road trip to Minneapolis and Seattle. He pitched with diminished velocity on April 8 and felt off when playing catch on April 9. (updated April 29) More >>
RHP Sam Bachman
Injury: Thoracic outlet syndrome
IL date: March 27 (15-day IL, retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: Possibly May
Status: Bachman was placed on the IL to start the year but he doesn't need surgery and the hope is he won't need a stint on the 60-day IL. (updated March 27)
3B Anthony Rendon
Injury: Left hip surgery
IL date: Feb. 15 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly late 2025
Status: Rendon underwent left hip surgery after attempting to rehab in the offseason and is likely to miss the 2025 season. (updated Feb. 24)
RHP Robert Stephenson
Injury: Torn right ulnar collateral ligament
IL date: Feb. 15 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly July
Status: Stephenson had Tommy John surgery with a brace inserted in his elbow on May 1, 2024, and is tracking for a return by midseason. (updated Feb. 18)
