Ronald Acuña Jr., Braves
Acuña's MRI revealed a Grade 1 right calf strain. The outfielder was placed on the IL on July 30, one day after leaving the Braves' game against the Royals during the bottom of the sixth inning.
Juan Soto, Mets
Soto suffered a foot contusion when he fouled a pitch off his left foot while batting in the fourth inning of the Mets' game on July 29. Soto stayed in to finish the at-bat, grounding out to second base, but was removed from the game when the Mets took the field in the next half-inning. X-rays on Soto's foot were negative and he's considered day to day, though he was out of the lineup on July 30.
Shohei Ohtani, Max Muncy, Tanner Scott, Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki and Hyeseong Kim, Dodgers
Ohtani departed his start on the mound in the middle of a plate appearance in the bottom of the fourth inning of his July 30 start against the Reds after throwing six straight balls, including two wild pitches. Ohtani was diagnosed with cramps, but remained in the game as the designated hitter.
Muncy (left knee bone bruise) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 29.
Scott (left elbow inflammation) was able to begin a throwing progression within a week of his IL placement, suggesting his absence could be relatively brief.
Snell (left shoulder inflammation) is slated to start against the Rays on Aug. 2.
Sasaki (right shoulder impingement) is set to face hitters sometime Aug. 1-3 for the first time since going on the IL.
Kim (left shoulder bursitis) was placed on the 10-day IL on July 29.
Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton and Bailey Ober, Twins
Correa was removed from the Twins' game on July 29 after feeling light-headed. He was out of the lineup July 30 after being diagnosed with a migraine. He's listed as day-to-day.
Buxton was placed on the 10-day IL on July 29 (retroactive to July 27) with left rib inflammation.
Ober (left hip impingement) is expected to make his next start in the Majors, though no return date has been set yet.
Aaron Judge, Luis Gil and Mark Leiter Jr., Yankees
Judge (right elbow flexor strain) resumed light cage work on July 29 and could begin hitting against velocity from a pitching machine over the coming weekend. A return as soon as he is eligible (Aug. 5) remains possible.
Gil (right lat strain) made his fourth Minor League rehab start on July 29 with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Leiter (left fibular head stress fracture) is on track to return during the Yankees' Aug. 4-6 series against the Rangers.
Jackson Chourio and Rhys Hoskins, Brewers
Chourio departed the Brewers' game on July 29 after leading off the bottom of the fifth inning with a triple. The team announced that Chourio is dealing with a right hamstring spasm. He was out of the lineup on July 30.
Hoskins (Grade 2 left thumb sprain) is now aiming to begin a rehab assignment by late August; the Brewers originally hoped Hoskins could be back in the lineup by mid- to late-August.
Jacob Wilson, Athletics
Wilson was placed on the 10-day IL on July 29 with a left forearm fracture.
Shane Bieber, Guardians
Bieber made his latest rehab start on July 29 in his comeback from Tommy John surgery in April 2024, and the 30-year-old worked four innings with Double-A Akron against the Erie Seawolves at Canal Park.
Ian Happ, Miguel Amaya, Jameson Taillon and Javier Assad, Cubs
Happ fouled a ball off his left shin during the Cubs' game on July 29. X-rays taken afterwards were negative, but an IL stint had not been ruled out as of July 30.
Amaya (left oblique strain) began a Minor League rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on July 29.
Taillon (right calf strain) threw a 40-pitch live batting practice session on July 29 and is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Aug. 2.
Assad (left oblique strain) is scheduled to make his next rehab start July 30 for Triple-A Iowa.
Kris Bubic and Jac Caglianone, Royals
Bubic (left rotator cuff strain) will miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
Caglianone (left hamstring strain) was participating in defensive drills at first base on July 29.
George Springer, Alejandro Kirk and Daulton Varsho, Blue Jays
Springer exited the Blue Jays' game on July 28 in the ninth inning after he was hit in the left ear flap by a 96 mph fastball. He was feeling better the next day but was out of the lineup for both games of the doubleheader.
Kirk participated in light baseball activities on July 28. He was placed on the 7-day concussion IL on July 27.
Varsho (left hamstring strain) is scheduled to play at Triple-A on July 29-30 and could return to the Blue Jays on Aug. 1.
Jeremy Peña, Lance McCullers Jr., Yordan Alvarez, and Spencer Arrighetti, Astros
Peña (rib fracture) went 2-for-2 with two strikeouts, two runs, a walk and a hit-by-pitch on July 29 in his first rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land and will play shortstop for the Space Cowboys on July 30.
McCullers (blister) has resumed playing catch as of July 30 in anticipation of ramping up his progression to live batting practice and bullpen sessions.
Alvarez (right hand fracture) has been taking swings in cage against coaches as of July 29.
Arrighetti (right thumb fracture) will make his third and final rehab start with Triple-A Sugar Land on July 31.
Michael King, Padres
King (right shoulder/long thoracic nerve injury) declared himself "100%" healthy after throwing three innings and 40 pitches in a simulated game on July 28. He could be lined up for a rehab start within the next week or so.
Tyler Wells, Félix Bautista, Albert Suarez and Kyle Bradish, Orioles
Wells (right elbow surgery) tossed two perfect innings in a July 30 rehab start for Double-A Chesapeake. First game action since April 2024, after undergoing surgery in June 2024.
Bautista (right shoulder discomfort) will be out "a while," interim manager Tony Mansolino said on July 28. An MRI revealed a lot of swelling in Bautista's shoulder, though there is not yet an exact diagnosis.
Suarez (right shoulder strain) is scheduled to face live hitters the week of July 28.
Bradish (Tommy John surgery) made his second rehab start for Double-A Chesapeake on July 29.
Hunter Greene, Reds
Greene (right groin strain) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on July 29.
Shane McClanahan, Rays
McClanahan (left triceps nerve irritation/biceps tendinitis) played catch from 60 feet on July 28 and "felt OK, nothing great," per manager Kevin Cash. McClanahan had pulled back from rehab due to soreness in his left biceps following a 10-pitch bullpen on July 21.
Alex Cobb, Reese Olson and Parker Meadows, Tigers
Cobb (hip inflammation) struck out four batters over two innings with a solo home run allowed in a rehab start for High-A West Michigan on July 29. He's tentatively scheduled to make another rehab start with West Michigan on Aug. 3.
Olson (right shoulder strain) will miss the remainder of the regular season, president of baseball operations Scott Harris said on July 28.
Meadows was placed on the 10-day IL with a right quad strain on July 28.
Max Kepler, Alec Bohm and Aaron Nola, Phillies
Kepler was scratched from the July 30 lineup against the White Sox with a left triceps strain.
As of July 28, Bohm (left rib fracture) was feeling better and could start taking dry swings and doing glove work soon.
Nola (right ankle sprain, right rib stress fracture) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on July 31 at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He will need at least three rehab starts before returning.
Nolan Gorman and Lars Nootbaar, Cardinals
Gorman (lower back pain) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on July 29.
Nootbaar (left costochondral sprain) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on July 30.
Tyler Mahle and Chris Martin, Rangers
Mahle (right rotator cuff strain) is still a couple weeks away from getting on the mound as of July 28, but manager Bruce Bochy said he "feels really good."
Martin (left calf strain) is also "a couple weeks" away from pitching off a mound, per Bochy.
Josiah Gray, Keibert Ruiz and Travis Sykora, Nationals
Gray (Tommy John surgery) is throwing bullpen sessions as of July 28.
Ruiz (concussion) is continuing to perform baseball activities as of July 28.
Sykora, the Nationals' No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is set to undergo UCL reconstruction in August.
Chase Meidroth, Martín Pérez and Shane Smith, White Sox
Meidroth was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning July 30 and stayed in the game, but was replaced at second by Lenyn Sosa in the top of the sixth. X-rays were negative.
Pérez, who has been on the injured list since April with elbow inflammation, is due to begin a rehab assignment this week for Triple-A Charlotte. He reports on July 30 and is scheduled to start on Aug. 2.
Smith, out since the All-Star break with a sprained left ankle sustained while running at PNC Park on July 16, will not need a rehab assignment. He will be activated during the road trip to Anaheim and Seattle.
Yoán Moncada, Angels
Moncada (right hand contusion) was out of the lineup through July 29.
