DODGERS ACTIVATE TOMMY EDMAN

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman and released infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor.

Edman, 29, missed 16 games with an ankle injury. He is batting .252 with eight homers and 24 RBI this season. The 2024 NLCS MVP is in his second season with Los Angeles and has clubbed 14 homers in 67 games. In parts of seven seasons with the Cardinals (2019-2023) and the Dodgers (2024-) he has slashed .263/.316/.413 with 67 homers and 266 RBI. The former Stanford Cardinal was selected in the 6th round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft by St. Louis.

Taylor, 34, appeared in 28 games for the Dodgers this season, hitting .200 with two RBI. The 2021 All-Star played 10 seasons with the Dodgers, slashing .250/.330/.431 with 108 homers and 423 RBI. The two-time World Champion has amassed 846 career hits in 1,093 games with the Seattle Mariners (2014-16) and Dodgers (2016-25). He was acquired by Los Angeles in 2016 from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Zach Lee.
