Los Angeles Wildfires: Support for Victims and First Responders
Listed below are a variety of community resources available to support individuals and families impacted by the recent fires. The organizations provide a wide range of assistance including shelter, supplies, emotional support, public safety information, or guidance through these difficult times.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is working to support all those who have been impacted by the fires. Emergency shelters have been opened across Los Angeles County to provide folks with shelter, food, and other critical services. The organization is also assisting individuals in locating loved ones and providing emotional support during this difficult time. The American Red Cross offers disaster assistance free of charge and without requiring identification.
FEMA
Those affected by the fires may be eligible to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds for housing needs, essential items, rental assistance, property losses and other eligible expenses.
YMCA
YMCA is offering free childcare for children of first responders, essential workers and families that have been displaced by the fires. Select YMCA locations have also been converted into temporary evacuation sites and distribution centers.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank works with local partners to offer groceries and meals to those in need across Los Angeles County.
California Association of Food Banks

CalFresh
Those affected by the fires may be eligible to receive one month of Disaster CalFresh food assistance.
Alert LA County
The County of Los Angeles offers an opt-in mass notification program that sends out emergency alerts by text, email and/or phone call. It also provides accessibility features for people with disabilities and/or access and functional needs.
Genasys Protect
Genasys Protect is an evacuation management tool that allows residents to look up their addresses and use the zone map to find evacuation information for their area.
California Insurance Commissioner’s Office
The California Insurance Commissioner’s Office has provided resources for those affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires to support them as they begin to rebuild.
GoodRx
GoodRx is offering free online healthcare provider appointments to residents impacted by the fires.
Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH)
If you are struggling with your mental health during these difficult times, there are services available to help. LACDMH has provided a list of mental health resources for those impacted by the fires.
