A pair of Top 100 heavyweights led the charge on Wednesday, with Max Clark and Chase Burns lighting up the High-A Midwest League. But the star-studded performances didn't stop there. A pair of Texas prospects -- one an Astro, the other a Ranger -- enjoyed huge offensive afternoons before ending their respective games with powerful swings.

Max Clark, OF, West Michigan (DET No. 1/MLB No. 7)
Playing in his home state of Indiana agreed with Clark, who led off the game with his third homer and later singled to continue his sizzling month. The 22-year-old has hit safely in eight of 10 games in May, slashing .381/.422/.571 with four extra-base hits and five RBIs. His hot streak has lifted his season average to .310 and his OPS to .881 with High-A West Michigan. Full story | Gameday
Chase Burns, RHP, Chattanooga (CIN No. 1/MLB No. 11)
Another solid start in what is becoming a pattern for last year's No. 2 overall pick. Burns surrendered a solo homer and one other hit over five frames while striking out seven. The 22-year-old did not issue a walk for the second time in three starts and sports a 48-to-7 K/BB ratio across 30 2/3 innings in his debut season. Burns has allowed more than one earned run once in seven starts and sports a 2.35 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP between Double-A Chattanooga and High-A Dayton. Gameday
Sebastian Walcott, SS/3B, Frisco (TEX No. 1/MLB No. 9)
Walcott produced a nearly carbon copy of Tuesday's solid performance by going deep, singling and earning a walk in four plate appearances. The 19-year-old has boosted his slugging percentage nearly 40 points since the start of May and now has a .769 OPS with 12 extra-base hits in 33 games for Double-A Frisco. Gameday
Braden Montgomery, OF, Winston-Salem (CWS No. 4/MLB No. 38)
Montgomery extended his red-hot start for High-A Winston-Salem with the first-year pro's fourth homer in eight games. The Texas A&M product and 12th overall pick in the 2024 Draft has hit safely in 12 of 14 games since his promotion from Single-A Kannapolis on April 29 and is batting .388 with a 1.221 OPS for the Dash. He is slashing .339/.423/.602 with 17 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs in 32 games overall. Gameday
Konnor Griffin, SS/OF, Bradenton (PIT No. 2/MLB No. 37)
Griffin's scorching May got a few degrees warmer with another three-hit contest for Single-A Bradenton, his third with at least three knocks in the past six games. The 19-year-old, who is riding a six-game hitting streak, scored twice and stole two more bases, giving him 15 in 19 attempts. Griffin's strong May showing has boosted his average 31 points to .296 and his OPS to .878 in the first 30 games of his pro career. Gameday
Chase DeLauter, OF, ACL Guardians (CLE No. 2/MLB No. 52)
DeLauter's rehab assignment in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League took an upturn with his first home run. The 16th overall pick in 2022 has been out of action since February with a core muscle injury but has played in four games as he works his way back to regular action. DeLauter has gone 3-for-8 during his rehab. Gameday
Travis Sykora, RHP, Fredericksburg (WSH No. 1/MLB No. 62)
Having completed a two-start rehab assignment in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League, Sykora made his first affiliated appearance for Single-A Fredericksburg. The results continued to be positive for the 21-year-old, who struck out four over three scoreless innings after looking no worse for wear in the FCL. Sykora, who underwent offseason surgery on his hip labrum, has struck out 18 across eight frames this season. Gameday
Shay Whitcomb, INF/OF, Sugar Land (HOU No. 15)
Whitcomb is on a tear that would make even the best of sluggers proud. The 26-year-old homered twice for the second consecutive game, drove in five runs and made his second dinger count by walking it off for Triple-A Sugar Land. Whitcomb, who also homered Sunday and has gone deep in three straight games, has seven jacks and 12 RBIs in 12 games this month. The UC San Diego product leads all Minor Leaguers with 13 long balls and sports a .975 OPS through 40 games. Gameday
Abimelec Ortiz, 1B/OF, Frisco (TEX No. 13)
Ortiz had already tallied his second straight multihit effort by the time he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning for Double-A Frisco. The 23-year-old put an exclamation point on his afternoon with a walk-off grand slam en route to a career-high six RBIs. Ortiz struggled in April but has turned things around in May, slashing .375/.432/.700 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 10 games. Gameday
