Nick Kappel
Director - Media Relations
Nick Kappel is in his 10th season with the Royals and fourth as the Director of Media Relations. He joined the Royals in 2016 as the Coordinator of Communications & Broadcasting and was promoted to Manager in 2020 before beginning in his current role in 2021.
Kappel assists in baseball communications and leads the day-to-day baseball information efforts, producing daily game notes and press releases. He also serves as the primary editor of team publications, including the media guide and yearbook.
He graduated from the University of Iowa in 2012 with a degree in journalism. A native of Waterloo, Iowa, Nick resides in Kansas City, Mo., with his wife, Caitlin, daughter, Beverly, and their miniature schnauzer, Wilbur.
