- Match Game - Print and cut the words and abbreviations. Have the students match the abbreviations with the words to learn eleven statistics you will see on a baseball card
- Baseball Card Questions - Use the Salvy’s statistics to learn how to read a baseball card
- Definitions Answer Key
- Grades 1-2 & 3-4 worksheets and answer key
Character Connections
- Match game: Print and cut the words and definitions, then have them the students match them. Discuss their matches as a class. Did everyone make the same match? Are some of the words and definitions similar?
- Have the students choose a character trait and write a paragraph on how they represent that trait.
- Some character traits feel easy to do, while others take more work. Have students write a paragraph on ways they can work on improving that trait.
Royal Reads
Every month a fiction or non-fiction baseball book highlights a Character Connections trait. Read the book with your class, discuss the highlighted trait(s) found in the book, and answer the questions (or create your own!).
