BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:
- Reinstated infielder Alex Bregman from the 10-Day Injured List.
- Reinstated right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins from the 15-Day Injured List.
- Optioned infielder David Hamilton and right-handed pitcher Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester following last night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Bregman, 31, has hit .299 (59-for-197) with a .938 OPS, 17 doubles, 11 home runs, and 35 RBI in 51 games this season. The right-handed hitter was elected by player vote as a 2025 American League All-Star, his third career selection. Originally selected by the Houston Astros in the first round (No. 2 overall) of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, the New Mexico native has hit .274 (1,191-for-4,354) with 698 RBI in 1,162 career Major League games with Houston (2016-24) and Boston (2025).
Dobbins, 25, will start tonight’s game against the Rays. The right-hander was placed on the 15-Day Injured List on June 22 (retroactive to June 21) with a right elbow strain. In one rehab outing for Double-A Portland on July 5, he tossed 5.0 innings with two hits and one run allowed while striking out eight. Selected by the Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Texas native has gone 4-1 with a 4.10 ERA (27 ER/59.1 IP) in 12 games (10 starts) for Boston this season, his Major League debut.
Hamilton, 27, has played in 62 games this season, batting .179 (22-for-123) with three doubles and three home runs. The left-handed hitter is tied for the team lead with 15 stolen bases. Originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the eighth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the Texas native has hit .220 (99-for-450) with 50 stolen bases in 175 career games, all with the Red Sox (2023-25).
Campbell, 27, pitched two innings on Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies. The right-hander has also made 30 relief outings for Triple-A Worcester this season, recording seven saves while posting a 3.89 ERA (17 ER/39.1 IP) with 33 strikeouts. Originally selected by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the Portugal native owns a 5.54 ERA (23 ER/37.1 IP) with 39 strikeouts in 36 career Major League games with the Mariners (2023) and Red Sox (2024-25).
