G2 of Orioles-Red Sox postponed; rescheduled for Saturday twin bill

May 24th, 2025

BOSTON -- The Red Sox and Orioles had planned on playing a split doubleheader on Friday, but Mother Nature had other ideas.

After Boston routed Baltimore, 19-5, in Game 1, the scheduled second game was postponed due to an extended period of rain in the Fenway Park area.

The clubs will instead play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET. Zach Eflin, who is 3-2, will start for the Orioles and Hunter Dobbins, 2-1, takes the hill for the home club.

Tickets for Friday night's game will be good for admission to the rescheduled contest. Saturday's game, which was regularly scheduled for 4:10 p.m., will move to 6:35 p.m. The Red Sox will start Lucas Giolito in the second game. The Orioles have not yet named a Game 2 starter.
