Expected return: Late September or October
Status: Fouled a ball off his foot on Aug. 27. Targeting a return during the final week of the regular season. Took ground balls, tracked pitches from live arms and swung in the cage on Sept 13. Injury: Left biceps tendinitis

Expected return: Late September, possibly

Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
IL date: Sept. 12 (15-day IL, retroactive to Sept. 9)
Expected return: Late September

RHP Joe Musgrove
Injury: Tommy John surgery (torn right UCL)
IL date: March 20 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Began playing catch in early April and has been throwing bullpen sessions since early August. Unlikely he will pitch in 2025, but Musgrove is holding out hope for a chance to return as a reliever if the Padres make a deep postseason run. (Last updated: Sept. 12)

Injury: Stress reaction in lower back
IL date: 26 (transferred to 60-day Minor League IL on Aug. 15)
Expected return: September or October

Injury: Left quadriceps tendon rupture

RHP Jhony Brito
Injury: Right elbow UCL surgery
IL date: March 27 (60-day IL, retroactive to March 24)
Expected return: 2026
