4 straight games with a homer! Royals' Caglianone belts 2, including 459-foot dinger

May 25th, 2025

has been electric throughout his young pro career, and his home runs seem to defy the laws of nature. It’s only fitting then that the Royals' top prospect has rumbled into Triple-A with the Omaha Storm Chasers and, in a flash, strung together a home run streak.

But that said, this is getting a little ridiculous.

Caglianone (KC No. 1/MLB No. 10) didn't only homer in his fourth straight game Sunday, he homered twice for good measure, continuing an eye-popping run at the plate to begin his Triple-A career. Caglianone cracked a titanic solo homer in his first at-bat and added a two-run blast in the 10th inning as Omaha captured a 5-2 victory in its series finale over Salt Lake. The latest taters bumped the slugger's season RBI total up to 53, which leads the Minors.

Caglianone just can't stop re-introducing himself to Triple-A in emphatic fashion. He's now collected at least one hit in each of his six games at Omaha and homered five times, including in four consecutive games.

Caglianone's first two Triple-A homers were measured at 410 and 431 feet, respectively. On Saturday, he homered over the outfield berm at The Ballpark at America First Square. Caglianone topped that with his first homer Sunday, which left the bat at 108.6 mph and traveled a whopping 459 feet.

While the displays of 70-grade power are new to the International League, they became routine at Caglianone’s previous stops. He's also no stranger to home run streaks. While serving double duty as a pitcher and a hitter at the University of Florida, the 6-foot-5 lefty set a school home run record (75) while leading the Gators to two Men’s College World Series appearances. He tied the Division I record with an eight-game home run streak during his junior year at Florida before the Royals made him the sixth overall pick in last year's Draft. Caglianone's first pro round-tripper was a grand slam.

Starting 2025 at Double-A, Caglianone crushed nine homers in 38 games, including one that landed on the roof of a nearby building. At the time of his promotion to Omaha, he was slashing .322/.394/.553.

The date of arrival for Caglianone homers in The Show remains up in the air. But in the meantime, it’s safe to say there are plenty more on the horizon for Omaha.
