DENVER -- Strapping young shortstop Ethan Holliday and other members of the Rockies’ 2025 MLB Draft class are (mostly) hidden at the Arizona Bridge League, but the MLB Pipeline overall Top 100 list and the club Top 30 lists find all the prospects.
Holliday, the No. 4 overall Draft pick, ranks No. 17 on the Top 100, and he tops the Rockies' list with several other members of his Draft class.
In a development that is in part due to an early-season left wrist injury and no small part due to new Draft class members entering the Top 100, last year’s top Rockies pick (third overall) -- Double-A Hartford first baseman Charlie Condon -- dropped from as high as No. 22 this year to No. 60 among MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects.
On the field, Condon, who played in the Futures Game during All-Star Weekend, is rising. He has a .782 OPS in his first 28 Double-A games (after an .851 in 35 games at High-A Spokane), but in his last 11 games, he has a .934 OPS. Condon still ranks No. 2 on the Rockies' list.
Here’s a look at the Rockies’ top prospects:
1. Ethan Holliday, SS (No. 17)
2. Charlie Condon, 1B (No. 60)
3. Cole Carrigg, OF
4. Robert Calaz, OF
5. Brody Brecht, RHP
Biggest jump/fall
Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the preseason list:
Jump: Kyle Karros, 3B (Preseason: No. 21 | Midseason: No. 11) -- Karros’ strong season at Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque has allowed him to rise all the way to the Majors.
Fall: Benny Montgomery, OF (Preseason: No. 15 | Midseason: Not ranked) -- When healthy, Montgomery hints at five-tool potential. But he has missed considerable time with a groin injury this year and just returned to the outfield in August.
