Jacob Reimer found his power dial on Wednesday ... then he promptly set it to max.
The Mets' No. 20 prospect not only surpassed his home run total on the season with a three-jack milestone effort in High-A Brooklyn's 15-1 romp of Wilmington at Maimonides Park, he also etched his name in franchise lore.

Reimer became the first player in Cyclones history to mash a three-homer game since the club became a full-season High-A affiliate in 2021. It's only the third time in franchise history that the feat has been accomplished and first since July 29, 2005, when Caleb Stewart did it against Hudson Valley. Noel Devarez notched the first trifecta at Maimonides Park by a Cyclones player in 2001 against the New Jersey Cardinals.
"This means a lot to me," Reimer said. "It's a pretty storied franchise for a Minor League club, so it's not something I take for granted. It's awesome."

Reimer was called up to Brooklyn at the end of last year and played his final 14 games of the season with the Cyclones. It was a bumpy start as he slashed .196/.327/.261 in first first taste of the South Atlantic League and didn't connect for a single home run across three levels of the Minors in 2024.
After the season, he knew something was off and went to the Mets' hitting lab for answers.
"I found some things there like my bad posture and I was opening up too much, and they gave me drills to do that I hammered all off-season and during the Fall League," Reimer said. "I even went back home and did it old school, worked with my dad on these drills too.
"It's been a good start for me so far. I'm rotating a lot faster and making better, harder contact."
Few players have been hotter than Reimer to begin the season. Through his first 21 games, the 2022 fourth-rounder is slashing .318/.383/.659 with five dingers, three triples, eight doubles, 21 RBIs, nine walks and a stolen base. The 21-year-old is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak and has amassed nine multihit efforts in April. He's also hit safely in 16 games and reached base in 17 contests.
On Wednesday, Reimer needed just seven pitches to match his homer tally on the season. He crushed a 3-1 fastball nearly off the scoreboard in left in the first inning and rocketed another heater that may have reached the Coney Island boardwalk in left in the second. He won a seven-pitch at-bat in the sixth when he unloaded on an off-speed offering and sent it flying over the wall in left-center for the milestone.
"I'm going to enjoy this tonight, but flush it out tomorrow like I would a bad game," he said. "Just keep sticking to my approach and focus on the next game."
And Reimer wasn't the only Cyclones player to enjoy a career day on Wednesday. Ronald Hernandez (NYM No. 26) went a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish -- while notching his first career mulithomer game -- with four RBIs, four runs scored and a stolen base. It's only the second time in franchise history that a pair of Brooklyn players recorded multiple homers in a game.
