Draft talent reflected in Guardians' updated Top 30 prospects

CLEVELAND -- As the Guardians have put together their best stretches of the 2025 season over the past month, they have also had many encouraging developments take place with their farm system.

Cleveland added a wave of talent to the organization in July, via 21 players they landed in the 2025 MLB Draft. That includes slugging outfielder , whom the Guardians selected 27th overall in the first round.

C.J. Kayfus (who represented the Guardians in the All-Star Futures Game on July 12) made his MLB debut on Aug. 2, after the Guardians selected him from Triple-A Columbus. Then, on Sunday, Cleveland announced a flurry of Minor League promotions, highlighted by -- the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 Draft -- getting bumped up from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus.

With Bazzana’s promotion, three of the Guardians’ top five prospects are now with Columbus.

The Guardians acquired Rosario from the Cubs in the Nov. 20 trade for reliever Eli Morgan, and the 21-year-old has enjoyed a stellar 2025 season -- which earned him a promotion from High-A Lake County to Double-A Akron on Aug. 5. Entering Tuesday, Rosario had a .263/.360/.492 slash line over 87 total games, with 16 doubles, 18 homers, 51 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

His strikeout rate has improved (32.2 percent in 2024, 26.1 in ‘25) and his walk rate has held steady year after year (12.3 in ’24, 10.7 in ’25).

The Guardians selected Mobley in the 10th round of the 2024 Draft, and the right-hander (who was committed to Florida State) signed for $1.80 million. Mobley stands 6-foot-5 and wields impressive velocity -- his fastball has reached the upper-90s -- and he only turned 19 on June 5. But he struggled with command after making his pro debut this year. In eight games (including seven starts) in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League, he recorded an 8.47 ERA with 18 walks and 25 strikeouts over 17 innings.
