Braves acquire righty Stratton from Bucs for Minors OF Dumitru

ATLANTA -- The Braves on Tuesday acquired right-handed pitcher from the Pirates for Minor League outfielder Titus Dumitru and cash considerations.

This move simply adds bullpen depth to the Braves’ organization. Stratton was immediately optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. The fact he has Minor League options remaining made him an attractive arm to acquire.

Stratton, 28, allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings in three games with Pittsburgh this season and has gone 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA in 47 career outings with the Pirates over the past three years. He's posted a 3.65 ERA in 21 relief appearances for Triple-A Indianapolis this season.

Dumitru, 22, was drafted in the 16th round by Atlanta in 2024. He's batted .231/.310/.319 with three homers and 13 steals in 64 games with High A Rome this season.
