Chad Arthur Wallach…wife, Amber, and three daughters: Ada (five), Josie (three) and Nora (born Nov. 2024)…is the son of former Major Leaguer Tim Wallach, who was a five-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Silver Slugger winner across a 17-year career with Expos (1980-92), Dodgers (1993-96) and Angels (1996)…Chad and Tim are the fifth father/son duo to both play for the Angels during their MLB careers (Ruben and Ruben Amaro Jr., Chris and C.J. Cron, Jerry and Jeff DaVanon, and Bob and Darren Oliver)…his brothers both played in the Minor Leagues: Matt, a catcher, (2007-13 with Dodgers) and Brett, a right-handed pitcher (2009-12 with Dodgers and Cubs).

2024

Was re-signed by Los Angeles-AL to a Minor League contract with a Major League Spring Training invite on 2/9…hit .294 (5-17) in 13 Cactus League contests…spent the season with Salt Lake (AAA), batting .247 (72-for-291) with a .767 OPS and a career-high 12 HR in 87 games…hit just .212 (33-156) in first 48 games from 3/30-7/5, then posted a .289/.358/.481/.839 (39-for-135) slash line with six home runs, eight doubles and 21 RBI in final 39 games from 7/6-end of season…threw out 17 of 77 (22.1%) of would-be base stealers…season-long eight-game hit streak from 8/21-29 (.379 BA, two HR, seven RBI, 1.059 OPS)…was on Bees’ Injured List from 4/5-18 (concussion)…elected free agency on 11/4.

2023

Began season with Triple-A Salt Lake, and batted .361 (13/36) with three extra-base hits and a .997 OPS in 11 games... Contract selected by Angels on April 21... Played in a career-high 65 games across two MLB stints, setting personal benchmarks in runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBI, walks, strikeouts, and SLG... Had career-high five game hit streak June 11-15...Batted .455 (5/11) with four runs, one double, two home runs, and three RBI during streak... Recorded his fourth career game with three hits July 31 at ATL (last; May 15 at Baltimore).

2022

Began season with Triple-A Salt Lake and spent majority of season with Bees... Had contract selected by Angels on May 7 and made Angels debut May 9 vs. Tampa Bay... In second game with Angels (May 10 vs. Rays), was behind the plate for Reid Detmers’ no-hitter and also hit his first Major League home run since Sept. 13, 2020 in that game... Became first player to homer and catch a no-hitter in same game since David Ross (Jake Arrieta no-hitter), April 21, 2016... Totaled 12 games across two big league stints...Angels went 6-4 in his starts behind the plate... Led Salt Lake catchers with 522.0 innings behind the plate...His nine minor league homers were his most since 2017 with Louisville.

2021

Began season with Marlins and appeared in 22 games before being optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville...After 31 games with Jumbo Shrimp, was recalled by Miami on July 23 and had a pinch hit appearance that night vs. San Diego...Was designated for assignment July 24 and claimed off waivers by Dodgers July 30 and assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City...Played in one game for OKC on Aug. 6 at Albuquerque and was then claimed off waivers by Angels the following day and assigned to Triple-A Salt Lake...Spent remainder of season with Bees, totaling 39 games and compiling eight home runs and 22 RBI.

2020

Chad Arthur Wallach played in 15 games in 2020. Hit .227 with a home run and six RBI. Added three doubles... Collected a hit in his playoff debut at Chicago-NL. Went 1x4.

2019

Chad Arthur Wallach had his 2019 season cut short after being placed on the Injured List with a concussion on May 24 (retro to May 22)... Went on two rehab assignments, appearing in four games total, but each ended with recurrences of symptoms...Batted .250 (12x48) with three doubles, a home run, and three RBI in 19 games with Miami...In final game, on May 21 at Detroit, went 2x5 with two doubles and two RBI, including the goahead RBI in the 11th inning. It was his second career go-ahead RBI and second multi-RBI game.

2018

Made first career Opening Day roster...On April 1 vs. the Cubs, recorded first career multi-hit game and first career RBI, which plated game-winning run in 6-0 win...Optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on April 16...Missed time in Minors from June 2 to July 13 due to broken left hamate bone...Was batting .333 (8x24) with two doubles, two homers, and five RBI in his final eight games for Baby Cakes prior to the injury... Went on four-game rehab assignment to GCL Marlins from August 4-8, going 5x14 with five RBI...Returned to New Orleans on August 9 and batted .216 (11x51) in 14 games before being recalled by Miami on September 1; was 10x33 (.303) in last nine games before recall...Hit first career home run on September 22 vs. Cincinnati.

2017

Spent majority of season with Triple-A Louisville (64 games), but also saw Major League time in two stints with Reds (6)...Both promotions followed trips to the paternity list for Reds' catchers: replaced Stuart Turner from August 25-27 and Tucker Barnhart on Aug. 31, remaining with team for rest of season...Made MLB debut with a start on August 27 vs. Pittsburgh, going 0x4...In his debut, became second Reds catcher (also, Turner) to make Major League debut in 2017. Wallach caught RHP Tyler Mahle, who was also making MLB debut. It was second time in franchise history, both in 2017, that a Reds' starting battery debuted in same game (Rookie Davis & Turner on April 6 vs. Philadelphia)...Second start and appearance came on September 3 at Pittsburgh... Notched first MLB hit on Sept. 20 vs St. Louis, a pinch-hit single off of Sam Tuivailala...Threw out 26.7 percent of runners attempting to steal (12-of-45) at Louisville...Homered in back-to-back appearances for Bats on July 3 & 5...Had .198 average through July for Louisville; batted .327 (16x49) in 13 games in August to bring final average to .226.

2016

In his first season above Class A made 69 apps for Class AA Pensacola...from 6/2-7/13 was on Pensacola's disabled list with a broken left hand...following the season played for Peoria in the prestigious Arizona Fall League (20g, .250, 4 2b, 3hr, 10rbi).

2015

Spent the season at high Class A Daytona, where his career-high 106 apps included 53 starts at 1B and 46 starts behind the plate...from 6/29-7/5 was on the Tortugas' disabled list with a sprained right knee...following the season played for Peoria in the prestigious Arizona Fall League (9g, 4-30, .133, 1 2b, 1rbi)...was a non-roster invitee to Major League spring training camp.
