Injury: Right hip flexor strain

Expected return: Two weeks
Status: Sosa hurt himself running early in Chicago's loss to the Tigers on June 2. He will begin a rehab assignment June 13 with Triple-A Charlotte. (Last updated: June 12)
RHP Jonathan Cannon
Injury: Lower back strain
IL date: June 3 (15-day IL)
Expected return: At least two-week absence
Status: Was feeling better when asked prior to June 10 opener in Houston. Manager Will Venable said Cannon is trending in right direction, with no set timeline for return. (Last updated: June 10)
LHP Jared Shuster
Injury: Blister on left hand
IL date: June 8 (15-day IL, retroactive to June 5)
Expected return: Two weeks
Status: Shuster allowed four runs in one inning as the opener in his last outing on June 4 vs. the Tigers but had not pitched since. (Last updated: June 8)
LHP Fraser Ellard
Injury: Left lat strain
IL date: May 4 (transferred to 60-day IL on June 8)
Expected return: TBD

Status: Missed the entire 2024 season. Made first start since 2023 on May 6 in rehab outing with High-A Winston-Salem, allowing three runs and walking two in three innings. (Last updated: May 7)
