Status: Gipson-Long returned to Detroit for further evaluation after complaining of stiffness in his neck following his 2 1/3-inning appearance against New York on Sept. 11. (Updated Sept. 12)
RHP Beau Brieske

Status: Brieske was recalled from Triple-A Toledo and placed on the 60-day injured list. He'd been on Toledo's injured list since July 10, and had a setback during a bullpen session that shut him down for 4-6 weeks. (Updated Sept. 12)
