The hitters came to play as another week of Minor League action took flight. Up and down the farm, prospects swung the heavy lumber and a number of Top 100 prospects did the heavy lifting. More roundtripper hijinks by Jordan Lawlar and Samuel Basallo plus a four-hit performance by Owen Caissie and continued excellence from Jett Williams and Carter Jensen made for a productive Tuesday on the diamond.
Jordan Lawlar, INF, Reno (AZ No. 1/MLB No. 4)
Lawlar kicked off a new week with his 10th homer of the season and second in as many games for Triple-A Reno. The 22-year-old has put together a strong month, hitting safely in 10 of 12 games with nine extra-base hits, 16 runs scored and 12 RBIs. After missing all but 23 games last year due to injury, Lawlar is enjoying his best season as a pro, slashing .324/.409/.594 in 50 Minor League contests. Gameday
Samuel Basallo, C/1B, Norfolk (BAL No. 1/MLB No. 16)
Basallo leads all catchers with 15 roundtrippers after going yard for the sixth time in 10 games this month, matching his long ball total in May. The 20-year-old is in the midst of his best stretch of the season, batting .375 with a 1.269 OPS and 11 RBIs in 40 at-bats in June. Basallo is just five homers shy of the career-high 20 he hit in 2023. Gameday

Emerson racked up three extra-base hits -- including his sixth roundtripper -- and three RBIs to continue his solid month at the plate. The Ohio native got off to a tremendous start before slumping badly in May, but he's picked up the pace again in June, hitting safely in eight of his past nine games to increase his slash line this month to .288/.406/.519 with seven extra-base hits and 11 walks.
