There was a little bit of everything during a productive full slate of Minor League action. Top 100 prospects Chase Burns and Trey Yesavage made good first impressions at new levels while two of the sport's brightest young stars -- JJ Wetherholt and Braden Montgomery -- came through when their teams needed it most.
Chase Burns, RHP, Louisville (CIN No. 1/MLB No. 11)
Burns put together a solid Triple-A debut, striking out seven while allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings for Louisville. The Wake Forest product surrendered two walks and two hits to the first five batters he faced but settled in nicely after that. Burns scattered another pair of singles and two more free passes while racking up six punchouts over 4 2/3 scoreless frames to finish off his outing. Gameday
Noah Schultz, LHP, Birmingham (CWS No. 1/MLB No. 13)
Schultz faced traffic throughout his 5 2/3 innings thanks to a season-high five walks, but the 2022 first-rounder also allowed just one hit without a run during his 91-pitch outing for Double-A Birmingham. The 21-year-old equaled a season high with seven strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 3.34 following his second scoreless outing in three starts, the lowest it has been in 2025. Gameday
Samuel Basallo, C/1B, Norfolk (BAL No. 1/MLB No. 16)
Basallo hammered his 14th homer, singled and walked in four plate appearances to continue his strong start to June. The 20-year-old has hit safely in six of seven games this month and is slashing .333/.438/.889 with five homers in 27 at-bats, one fewer than he hit in May, when he totaled 77 at-bats. Basallo's 14 roundtrippers are tied for the most in the Triple-A International League. Gameday

JJ Wetherholt, SS, Springfield (STL No. 1/MLB No. 18)
Wetherholt's second RBI single of the night capped a 10th-inning rally that lifted Double-A Springfield to victory. The 22-year-old has been one of the top hitters in the Minors in June, collecting multihit performances in seven of nine games while slashing .500/.634/.733 with 10 walks. Wetherholt has been a consistent offensive force after vaulting up two levels from Single-A last year and is batting .319 with a .914 OPS in 45 games. Gameday
Kevin McGonigle, SS/2B, West Michigan (DET No. 2/MLB No. 23)
McGonigle fell a triple shy of the cycle and equaled a career high with his second four-hit game of the year in his latest offensive outburst. The Pennsylvania native reached base in all five plate appearances, matched a career high with four runs and drove in a pair. More than half (18) of McGonigle's 32 hits this season have gone for extra bases, contributing to his 1.098 OPS in 88 at-bats. Gameday
Braden Montgomery, OF, Winston-Salem (CWS No. 4/MLB No. 35)
A slump that had dropped Montgomery's average at High-A to .234 less than a week ago appears to be a thing of the past. The Texas A&M product came through with his second walk-off homer of the year for Winston-Salem after racing for his first triple of the year earlier in the game. Montgomery has gone 10-for-22 during a five-game hitting streak and is slashing .316/.366/.579 with five extra-base hits in June. Gameday
Owen Caissie, OF, Iowa (CHC No. 2/MLB No. 46)
Caissie opened Triple-A Iowa's doubleheader by homering for a third consecutive game, reaching base four times and driving in three runs. The 22-year-old added a double in the nightcap and has hit safely in 11 of 12 games in June, slashing .371/.476/.743 with three roundtrippers and nine RBIs. Caissie's hot streak has improved his season average 19 points to .262 and his OPS to .876. Gameday
Jett Williams, SS/OF, Binghamton (NYM No. 1/MLB No. 48)
Williams followed up the first multihomer game of his career with three more extra-base hits, three runs scored and two RBIs. The Dallas native, who tripled twice, doubled and stole his 18th base of the season, reached safely in four of his five plate appearances and is slashing .298/.407/.530 with 26 extra-base hits in 52 games for Double-A Binghamton. Gameday
Travis Sykora, RHP, Wilmington (WSH No. 1/MLB No. 58)
Sykora's 2025 dominance manifested itself into his best performance of what has already been a brilliant season. The 21-year-old equaled a professional high with 10 strikeouts over five scoreless innings for High-A Wilmington, marking the sixth time in eight starts he has been unscored upon. Sykora has been brought along slowly after offseason hip surgery but has proven to be hard to hit, allowing just nine hits and three runs in 29 innings while running a 55-to-5 K/BB ratio. Gameday
Trey Yesavage, RHP, New Hampshire (TOR No. 2/MLB No. 67)
A terrific rookie season moved to another level as Yesavage brought his talents to Double-A. The 2024 first-rounder walked four, including the first three batters he faced, but allowed just one run on one hit while striking out four across four innings. Yesavage worked around a leadoff double in his final frame and fanned the final batter to cap his 68-pitch outing. Gameday
