Jimmy Rollins & Ed Wade inducted into Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame
As part of the annual Toyota Phillies Alumni weekend, Phillies Wall of Famers made their return to Citizens Bank Park for Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame Night, as two legendary Phillies figures were given one of the team’s highest honors. On Friday night, all-time hits leader and 2008 World Series champion Jimmy Rollins, as well as Ed Wade, the team’s vice president and general manager from 1998 until 2005, who was responsible for drafting and developing much of the core of the historic 2008 world championship team, were inducted into the team’s prestigious Wall of Fame.
Ceremony participants included 2008 World Series champion Ryan Howard, who spoke about his longtime teammate Rollins, and Phillies Wall of Famer Larry Bowa, the first managerial hire during Wade’s tenure as general manager.
After both Rollins and Wade spoke, they were given Phillies Wall of Fame rings by the team’s managing partner and CEO John Middleton, and 2008 World Series champion Chase Utley unveiled both men’s plaques.
Congratulations to both Jimmy Rollins and Ed Wade on this historic achievement!
