The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) announced several of its award recipients for the 2025 season ahead of Wednesday’s regular-season finales in Rosemont, Ill., and Tuscaloosa, Ala. The 2025 AUSL Most Valuable Player will be announced on Saturday before the Bandits and Talons play the first game of the AUSL Championship presented by Sephora. The best-of-three set will be held at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa and air on ESPN2:
July 26, 3 p.m. ET: AUSL championship, Game 1, Bandits vs. Talons (ESPN)
July 27, 2 p.m. ET: AUSL championship, Game 2, Bandits vs. Talons (ESPN)
July 28, 7 p.m. ET: AUSL championship, Game 3, if nec., Bandits vs. Talons (ESPN2)
Bandits infielder Erin Coffel was named the league’s Hitter of the Year, while the Talons’ Georgina Corrick earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Blaze infielder Ana Gold was recognized as the AUSL Rookie of the Year, while Talons infielder Hannah Flippen received the league’s Defensive Player of the Year distinction.

Flippen also headlined a group of 10 players named to the AUSL All-Defensive Team.
The voting panel included the AUSL Player Executive Committee, AUSL advisors, general managers and head coaches, members of the AUSL broadcast team, beat writers as well as select members of the press. In addition, the results of fan polling through AUSL social media accounts was factored into the totals.
“Congratulations to Erin, Georgina, Ana and Hannah on this well-deserved recognition for their incredible performances this season, as well as the entire All-Defensive Team,” AUSL Commissioner Kim Ng said. “These honors reflect not only their outstanding performance on the field, but also their leadership, professionalism, and contributions to an unforgettable inaugural AUSL season. This has been a landmark year for professional softball, and the efforts of all our athletes have played a vital role in shaping the foundation and future of this league. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and grateful for the excellence they represent.”
Hitter of the Year: Erin Coffel, Bandits
Coffel paces the AUSL with an .877 slugging percentage and .570 on-base percentage while ranking third in the league with a .404 average. The former Kentucky star had also driven in a league-high 27 runs entering Wednesday’s regular-season finale against the Blaze. She has five home runs and a league-high four triples. Coffel, who reached base safely in her first 19 games this season, has been hit by a pitch 13 times, which leads the league, and she has drawn nine walks.
Pitcher of the Year: Georgina Corrick, Talons
Corrick, who is a perfect 6-0 this season, has been one of the most dominating pitchers in the AUSL while leading the Talons to a league-best 18-5 record entering their regular-season finale against the Volts on Wednesday. She leads the league in wins (six), saves (four), ERA (2.04), opponents' batting average (.202), fewest hits allowed (25) and fewest earned runs allowed (10). The former South Florida standout became the first pitcher in AUSL history to record a complete-game shutout when she helped the Talons blank the Volts, 4-0, on June 21. She added her second clean sheet on July 8 with another 4-0 triumph against the Volts.
Rookie of the Year: Ana Gold, Blaze
Gold leads all rookies and ranks fifth among all players in the AUSL with a .394 batting average, as well as third in slugging percentage (.704). The rookie from Duke has collected 28 hits, the fourth most in the league, and is tied for the third-most total bases (50). Gold, who joins Coffel as the only players in the league with multiple triples, has posted a hit in eight of her past nine games. She belted a pair of home runs against the Bandits in a 12-6 victory on Tuesday night.
Defensive Player of the Year: Hannah Flippen, Talons
Flippen, who owns a .969 fielding percentage over 22 games for the Talons, ranks fourth in the AUSL with 97 total chances at shortstop, while her 38 assists are tied for second entering Wednesday’s regular-season finale against the Volts. The former Utah product has been involved in seven double plays, which is good for second-most in the league. The 2022 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Defensive Player of the Year has also excelled offensively this summer, ranking third on the Talons’ roster with a .313 batting average while contributing three home runs and a team-high 20 RBIs.
