Fans Can Donate Non-Perishable Items Pregame on August 1 & 2
FLUSHING, N.Y., July 31, 2025 – The New York Mets will host their annual Summer Food Drive, presented by 1PointFive, a carbon capture, utilization and sequestration company, to benefit Food Bank For NYC pregame during the Mets vs. Giants Series on Friday, August 1 and Saturday, August 2 at Citi Field.
Two collection points will be set up on the first and third base sides of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda outside of the ballpark between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, August 1 and between 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 2. Fans planning on attending games on August 1 and 2 must make their donation at the collection points outside of ballpark before entering the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. There will not be collection points inside of the ballpark.
Fans donating at least 10 non-perishable items will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Mets regular season home game in 2025.
All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no glass containers or perishable food. Please note that expired items will not be accepted. The most needed food items are milk (powdered, evaporated, boxed), pasta, rice, canned vegetables (low sodium), canned fruit (packed in its own juice), oatmeal, hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized), boxed grits, canned tuna or chicken and canned soup.
Food Bank for New York City aims to empower every New Yorker to achieve food security for good. They work with 800+ soup kitchens, food pantries, and campus partners to provide immediate and reliable access to food and nutrition education.
