New York Mets to Host a Celebration of Queens Culture at Citi Field

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 27, 2025 – The New York Mets will host their second annual A Celebration of Queens Culture, presented by Heineken, at Citi Field on Thursday, August 28 when they take on the Miami Marlins at 7:10 p.m. With more than 100 cultures represented in The World’s Borough, the Mets are excited to recognize the Queens community through a lively night of food, music and art.

The Mets will have a variety of activations on the Plaza pre-game beginning at 5:30 p.m., including legendary DJ Ralph McDaniels spinning throughout the evening and the CarNYval Dancers from Jamaica Queens, who will bring their dynamic Caribbean performances to Citi Field.

There will be two local food trucks: Dumpling Magic from Long Island City and Frank's Souvlaki from Astoria. Plus, henna tattoos from local artist NYC Henna, graffiti art by Eliot Salome-Diaz, and opportunities to connect with local businesses and community organizations. Heineken will also be serving samples in the K Korner.

The National Anthem will be performed by a trio of trumpets from The Louis Armstrong House Museum located in Corona, who will be later joined by students from the Museum to perform “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. The first pitch will be thrown by Queens rapper and actor, Action Bronson.

Fans can also support the Queens Public Library by participating in the Amazin’ Mets Foundation 50/50 raffle that night. Volunteers from the library will be selling raffle tickets to help raise money to support their 66 branches that empower Queens residents through learning, resources, and community programs.
