Here are Thursday's top prospect performances from the Minors

July 11th, 2025

There was no shortage of notable performances around the Minors, especially on the mound. Top 5 prospect Bubba Chandler continued to look like an ace-in-training, while Mick Abel and Brandon Sproat matched each other zero for zero. Offensively, the red-hot Owen Caissie reached the seats yet again, as did Kaelen Culpepper, who is finding Double-A very much to his liking.

Bubba Chandler, RHP, Indianapolis (PIT No. 1/MLB No. 5)
Chandler extended his scoreless streak to 14 1/3 innings and topped out at 100.2 mph during another strong outing for Triple-A Indianapolis. The 22-year-old struck out seven and generated 15 whiffs on 47 swings while averaging 97 mph on his 56 four-seam fastballs. Chandler, who lowered his ERA to 2.82 across 18 starts, has held the opposition scoreless seven times this season and has surrendered one run or fewer 11 times. Gameday

Colt Emerson, SS/3B, Everett (SEA No. 1/MLB No. 18)
Emerson has been one of the Minors' best hitters since the beginning of June, which continued with a three-hit night for High-A Everett. The 19-year-old hammered his eighth homer and fell a triple shy of the cycle to lift his slash line for the season to .271/.369/.429 in 72 games. Emerson has been even better since June 1, batting .317 with a .943 OPS in 27 games. Gameday

Owen Caissie, OF, Iowa (CHC No. 1/MLB No. 43)
Caissie's personal Home Run Derby tour rolled on as the 23-year-old hammered his seventh long ball in eight games this month and his 19th of the season. The native of Ontario, Canada, has been one of the hottest hitters in the Minors since the calendar flipped to June, but he's taken things to another level in July. Caissie has three multihomer games and is slashing .394/.487/1.091 with nine extra-base hits and nine RBIs this month. Gameday

Mick Abel, RHP, Lehigh Valley (PHI No. 5/MLB No. 87)
Abel's first Triple-A start after five weeks in the Majors was a rousing success. The Oregon native tossed 5 2/3 hitless innings before allowing a single and finished his evening with four strikeouts, one hit and one walk over six scoreless frames. Abel has been one of the best pitchers in the Minors -- when he hasn't been pitching for Philadelphia -- sporting a 2.00 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP and a 71-to-27 K/BB ratio in 63 innings for Lehigh Valley. Gameday

Kaelen Culpepper, SS, Wichita (MIN No. 4/MLB No. 96)
Culpepper's rise from 2024 first-rounder to one of the top prospects in baseball has taken an extra leap since his promotion to Double-A Wichita. The Kansas State product homered to cap a three-hit night while extending his hitting streak to eight games, including four consecutive multihit performances. Culpepper is slashing .368/.442/.515 in 16 Double-A games and has an .886 OPS in 70 games overall. Gameday

Brandon Sproat, RHP, Syracuse (NYM No. 5)
Sproat's turnaround after a rough start to 2025 continued with his third consecutive scoreless start spanning 18 frames for Triple-A Syracuse. The Florida product equaled a career high by tossing seven innings and yielded just three hits and walked one during his 87-pitch outing. Sproat has a 2.89 ERA over his past nine starts dating to May 20, helping him lower his overall ERA from 6.69 to 4.61. Gameday

Kendry Rojas, LHP, New Hampshire (TOR No. 8)
Rojas dominated the opposition in his second Double-A start, equaling a career high with 10 strikeouts over five scoreless frames. The 22-year-old allowed a pair of singles and nothing else during his 75-pitch outing and retired the last eight batters he faced, including six consecutive strikeouts. Rojas has a 1.63 ERA and an 0.80 WHIP in eight appearances (seven starts) after missing the first two months of the season with an abdominal injury. Gameday

Daniel Eagen, RHP, Hillsboro (AZ No. 16)
Eagen had everything working during his 14th pro start, twirling six hitless frames and striking out six for High-A Hillsboro. The D-backs' third-round pick in last year's Draft suffered through his worst outing of the season to close out June but has allowed just one run in 11 2/3 innings in two starts this month. Eagen owns a 2.60 ERA and has struck out 94 in 69 1/3 frames while holding opposing batters to a .198 average. Gameday
