Brewers, Mets to play 2 Wednesday after Tuesday rainout

July 1st, 2025

NEW YORK -- Evening rainshowers prompted a postponement of Tuesday’s series opener between the Brewers and Mets, who will try again Wednesday in a split doubleheader at Citi Field.

Wednesday’s games are scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET/12:10 CT and 7:10 p.m. ET/6:10 CT.

The Brewers will keep their scheduled starting pitchers in order, meaning Freddy Peralta is scheduled to start Game 1 and 23-year-old phenom Jacob Misiorowski is set for Game 2.

For the Mets, Clay Holmes is scheduled to get the ball in Game 1, looking to follow up a strong June. The right-hander posted a 2.93 ERA over five starts, allowing only one run in three of them. New York has not yet announced who will start the twinbill nightcap. Blade Tidwell was originally slated to go against Misiorowski in the second game of the series, but the Mets will first get through Game 1 before deciding their pitching plans.

The series is a rematch of last year’s NL Wild Card Series, a three-game thriller in which Milwaukee was two outs away from sending New York home for the offseason when Pete Alonso connected for a go-ahead homer off then-Brewers closer Devin Williams to save the Mets’ season and propel them all the way to the NLCS.

The Mets said that fans holding paid tickets for Tuesday’s game may use them for Game 1 on Wednesday. Following the conclusion of that game, ticketed fans who do not attend the makeup game may exchange a digital ticket voucher for a ticket comparable in price and location to another Mets 2025 regular-season home game at Citi Field (excluding Mets vs. Yankees, July 4-6, July 19 vs. Cincinnati and September 13 vs. Texas; additional blackout dates may apply), subject to availability.
