What/when is The Heart of Town?
The Heart of Town is a three-night celebration of the magic of the Grateful Dead and their 60th anniversary as a band at Pier 48 in Mission Rock hosted by Grahame Lesh & Friends.
Taking place Thursday, July 31 - Saturday, August 2, each night features two full sets of music with rotating lineups of special guests. Thursday kicks off at 8 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday the music starts at 11 p.m. (going late), giving anyone attending the Dead & Company shows at Golden Gate Park plenty of time to get to Pier 48 without missing a single note.
With world-class production, psychedelic visuals, and a vibrant vendor village, this is the late-night afterparty San Francisco has been waiting for.
Where is Pier 48?
Located steps from Oracle Park (home of the San Francisco Giants), across from McCovey Cove, Pier 48 is a historic waterfront venue in the Mission Rock neighborhood. Pier 48 is both the name of the venue and the official street address (Pier 48, San Francisco, CA 94158).
How much are tickets?
Choose from 3-day passes or daily tickets, with a VIP option for both. General admission daily tickets are $95 each. VIP daily tickets are $229 each. 3-day General Admission passes are $276 each. 3-day VIP passes are $687 each. All prices are inclusive of taxes and fees. Ticket types are subject to availability.
How can I access my tickets?
Tickets are mobile only via the free MLB Ballpark app. We encourage attendees to access or forward their tickets prior to arrival. Learn more.
Does my ticket include a seat?
All tickets are standing only. The GA space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The VIP area will have limited lounge seating available in addition to standing space.
Can I buy tickets at the Oracle Park box office or at Pier 48?
No, tickets are sold online only.
Is Pier 48 ADA Accessible?
Yes, the venue is ADA accessible.
What is the refund policy?
All tickets are final sale. No refunds or exchanges. If you can no longer attend the event, you are welcome to forward your tickets to others.
What is the schedule each night?
- Thursday, July 31: Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at approximately 8 p.m.
- Friday, August 1: Doors open at 10 p.m., show starts at approximately 11 p.m. (after the Golden Gate Park show)
- Saturday, August 2: Doors open at 10 p.m., show starts at approximately 11 p.m. (after the Golden Gate Park show)
Each show is expected to last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

What can I expect at the vendor village?
The Heart of Town will feature 20+ artisans offering a vibrant and eclectic mix of Grateful Dead-inspired goods and elevated wares featuring everything from handmade jewelry, exceptional tie-dye, upcycled vintage clothing, hand-carved wood pieces, to rare rocks, minerals, and crystals. Shoppers will find a curated blend of men’s and women’s fashion, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind creations celebrating the spirit of the Dead.
Will there be merchandise available for purchase?
Yes, select merchandise (in addition to items sold at the vendor village) will be available for purchase on-site. Quantities are limited.
What are my transportation options?
We encourage attendees to plan their transportation arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable arrival.
Public transportation:
Coming from Golden Gate Park? Hop on Muni’s N-Judah - Caltrain/Ballpark line and ride approximately 20 minutes to 2nd & King, then walk 5 minutes to Pier 48.
Other recommended public transit options:
- Muni’s N Judah stops at 2nd & King Station, adjacent to Oracle Park (a 5-minute walk to Pier 48) and the T Third/Central Subway line stops at Mission Rock Station, one block from Pier 48. Use Muni’s Trip Planner to plan ahead.
- Muni does not operate service after 12:00 a.m. - service will not be available after the shows on Friday and Saturday.
- Caltrain stops within steps of Pier 48, providing convenient access. Caltrain departs the San Francisco Station every 30 minutes during evenings. Check Caltrain’s website for current schedule information.
- The last train leaves San Francisco Station at 12:05 a.m. - service will not be available after the shows on Friday and Saturday.
- BART is a short walk or Muni ride away from Pier 48.
- Easily connect to the Muni’s T Third/Central Subway at Powell Street Station and get off at Mission Rock Station, which is one block from Pier 48. Check BART’s trip planner for exact departure times.
- Final trains depart Embarcadero Station at 12:00 a.m. and service will not be available after the shows on Friday and Saturday.
Biking: For those traveling by bike, bike racks are available throughout China Basin Park. The Bike Valet at Oracle Park will not be open for these shows.
Ridehail: Easily call a ride to/from the venue at one of the loading zones on 3rd St, just north or south of Toni Sone Xing.
Parking: Reservations are required to park in Oracle Park lots, including for those with valid ADA placards.

- Please be aware of third parties selling unauthorized parking passes.
- Resale parking passes will not be honored in Oracle Park controlled facilities.
What is the bag policy?
To allow for an expedited entry, backpacks (including clear backpacks) and hard-sided coolers are NOT permitted. Accommodations will be made for medical bags and guests with accessible needs. Bags that do not exceed 16" x 16" x 8" in size are permitted and do not need to be clear. All bags are subject to inspection. On-site storage is not available.
Will food and beverage be available for purchase?
Select food trucks/stations will be open throughout the show, with a variety of bars spread throughout the venue.
Can I bring my own food and beverage?
Outside food and beverages are allowed. Beverage containers must be factory sealed. Alcohol, glass, aluminum or hard-sided coolers are NOT permitted.
What is the re-entry policy?
Re-entry is not permitted.
Is there a noise ordinance?
Pier 48 is located in a residential area. Please be respectful upon entering and leaving the neighborhood.
