Here are Wednesday's top prospect performances from the Minors

May 29th, 2025

There were plenty of eye-opening performances during a mid-week slate, including three hits from the Royals' Jac Caglianone and a big game from Giants slugger Bryce Eldridge. Seattle's Top 100 duo of Cole Young and Harry Ford combined for eight hits -- including three extra-base knocks -- while Houston's Shay Whitcomb cleared the fences not once, not twice ... but THREE times! All that and more on a busy night around the Minors.

Jac Caglianone, 1B/OF, Omaha (KC No. 1/MLB No. 10)
The move up to Triple-A has been anything but difficult for Caglianone, who has now hit safely in seven of eight games for Omaha after another three-hit performance. The lefty-swinging slugger doubled and singled twice to push his slash line to .343/.351/.800 for the Storm Chasers. Despite not driving in a run, Caglianone still leads the Minors with 53 RBIs. Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Richmond (SF No. 1/MLB No. 21)
Eldridge's strong May continued with three RBIs on the strength of his sixth homer and a sacrifice fly. The long ball snapped a nine-game drought for the 20-year-old, who has more than carried his share of the load offensively for Double-A Richmond. Eldridge has reached base safely in 21 of 24 games this month, slashing .318/.371/.568 with 12 extra-base hits and 15 RBIs. Gameday

Cole Young, 2B/SS, Tacoma (SEA No. 3/MLB No. 43)
Young erupted for a career-high five hits for Triple-A Tacoma as he continues to sizzle in May. The 21st overall pick in the 2022 Draft doubled twice, drove in a pair of runs, scored two times and swiped a base in his most complete game of the season. Young has hit safely in 20 of his past 22 games and is slashing .371/.455/.691 with 18 extra-base hits and 20 RBIs in May, raising his average 87 points since the end of April. Gameday

Harry Ford, C, Tacoma (SEA No. 5/MLB No. 67)
Ford didn't match Young's five hits, but the 22-year-old did his part on offense, hammering his fifth home run as part of a three-hit night, three-RBI night. The Atlanta native has four multihit efforts in his past five games and is one of the hottest hitters in the Minors in May, batting .403 with an 1.107 OPS, 10 extra-base hits and 17 RBIs in 19 games. Gameday

Robby Snelling, LHP, Pensacola (MIA No. 3/MLB No. 94)
Snelling turned in his second consecutive strong outing following two rough starts to begin the month. The 21-year-old surrendered three runs and fanned six over a career-high seven innings for Double-A Pensacola. Snelling retired 12 consecutive batters to begin the game before finding trouble in the fifth, but he rebounded with a pair of scoreless frames to end his start after 89 pitches (60 strikes). Gameday

Shay Whitcomb, INF/OF, Sugar Land (HOU No. 15)
Whitcomb's power-packed May rolled on with the first three-homer game of his pro career, giving him 10 roundtrippers in 90 at-bats this month and a Minor League-best 16 overall. The UC San Diego product equaled a career high with four hits, drove in five runs and scored three times for Triple-A Sugar Land. Whitcomb has amassed 29 extra-base hits, 35 RBIs and owns a .925 OPS in 51 games. Gameday

Sam Aldegheri, LHP, Rocket City (LAA No. 5)
Aldegheri rebounded from three consecutive subpar starts with 4 2/3 no-hit frames for Double-A Rocket City. The Italy-born southpaw allowed an unearned run and worked around a pair of walks and hit batsmen to spin his outing without an earned run allowed since May 1. Aldegheri struck out seven and has racked up 48 punchouts in 47 2/3 innings to go along with a 4.34 ERA in nine starts. Gameday

Cade Cavalli, RHP, Rochester (WSH No. 7)
Cavalli came through with his best performance of the year, striking out 10 over five scoreless innings to pick up his second consecutive win. The 26-year-old continues his trek back from Tommy John surgery, which erased his 2023 campaign and limited him to three late-season outings last year. Cavalli has surrendered two runs while running a 23-to-3 K/BB ratio over 14 innings in his past three starts for Triple-A Rochester. Gameday

Tommy Troy, 2B/SS, Amarillo (AZ No. 8)
Not known for his power, Troy still flexed some serious muscle to notch his first multihomer game as pro for Double-A Amarillo. The Stanford product doubled his long ball output for the season to four with his two jacks and drove in three runs. Troy has collected 14 of his 22 RBIs in May, is slashing .284/.419/.426 overall and is a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen-base attempts. Gameday

Yophery Rodriguez, OF, Greenville (BOS No. 10)
Rodriguez has found the going tough as a 19-year-old at High-A, but he came through with his best game of the year for High-A Greenville. The native of the Dominican Republic drove in a career-high five runs and doubled three times to equal his number of hits amassed in his previous eight games combined. Gameday
