Launched in 2019 by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, Diamondbacks Girls Play Ball is a free program that empowers young girls through baseball. It helps build confidence, health, and life skills while providing the opportunity to experience the many benefits of sports.
Studies show that girls in sports have better self-esteem, focus, and mental health, yet they drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys by age 14. Girls Play Ball works to change that by offering accessible opportunities for young women to thrive both on and off the field.
Since its launch, the program has impacted more than 1,000 girls in more than 25 Arizona cities.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation invites girls and young women ages 7 to 14 to join us for a fun and exciting opportunity to get into baseball! This free program offers exclusive on-field instruction, access to the stadium, a beginner’s baseball glove, custom Girls Play Ball swag, and tickets to a Diamondbacks regular-season game at no cost to participants.
This year’s clinic will take place at Chase Field on Saturday, June 14.

She has been through some serious depression/anxiety in the last two months in which she has had suicidal intentions. She is now working with behavioral health and so far is doing great. Also, working with a school counselor so she may gain confidence in herself. She was super excited when I mentioned this all girl clinic to her and I’m sure she will be ecstatic when she finds out that she will be attending! She played softball in the past and quit this season due to her emotions but I’m hoping this will get her playing again with confidence.
