Pirates Claim Right-Handed Pitcher Jack Little Off Waivers From The Los Angeles Dodgers

The Pittsburgh Pirates today claimed right-handed pitcher Jack Little off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Little has been assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

The 27-year-old righthander, who was designated for assignment on August 4, made two relief appearances with Los Angeles this season. He made his big-league debut on June 19 against the Padres, allowing two runs in 2.0 innings. He also tossed 1.0 scoreless inning of relief in his only other outing with the Dodgers on July 5 vs. Houston.

Little spent a majority of this season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he went 5-4 with 13 saves, a 4.64 ERA (42.2ip/22er) and 39 strikeouts in 36 appearances. Little’s 13 saves coming into today were the most in the Pacific Coast League and among all Dodgers farmhands.

There are now 39 players on Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster.
