If the Yankees win the American League East Division and do not have the one of the two best records among the other American League Division winners or if the Yankees have the best record among the other Wild Card teams, the Yankees will have the home field advantage. If the Yankees have the second or third best record among the other American League Wild Card teams, the opponent will have the home field advantage.
