2025 HOPE Week: Day 5

The Yankees honored Brian Worthington, the founder of the non-profit New York Metro Black Pilots of America (NYMBPA), which introduces underserved and underprivileged communities to the aviation industry. Worthington and other members of the NYMBPA use their own small planes to instruct students of color, with most of the costs coming out of pocket. Yankees players Trent Grisham, Jasson Domínguez, Oswald Peraza, JT Brubaker and Yerry de los Santos, along with Pitching Coach Matt Blake, First Coach Travis Chapman and The Daily Show alum and comedian Roy Wood Jr., joined Worthington, NYMBPA volunteers and students interested in aviation at Vaughn College, where they received a tour of the hangar and utilized their Redbird Flight Simulators and Air Traffic Controller Simulator.
