The White Sox created ACE in 2007 to reverse the declining interest and participation in baseball among African Americans and to prepare each participant to succeed in life beyond the field. Ninety-nine percent of participants graduate high school. More than 300 college scholarships have been earned by ACE participants to schools like Louisville, Michigan and Vanderbilt, and 30 players have been drafted by MLB teams. The ACE program serves as a source of hope and inspiration for the community and received Major League Baseball’s prestigious Allan H. Selig Award for Philanthropic Excellence in 2022.

Through annual grant giving, CWSC and the White Sox Community Fund, a McCormick Foundation fund, support Chicago-based agencies that provide vital services to underserved and marginalized communities.
Earlier this year, CWSC announced five Diamond Impact Award recipients, each receiving a one-time $125,000 grant to expand their reach and continue driving positive social impact across the city. Aligning with CWSC’s core giving pillars and the White Sox organization’s 125th anniversary, this year’s award recipients include: Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago’s Bartlett J. McCartin Club, Brightpoint’s Mitzi Freidheim Child & Family Center, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, Mobile Care Chicago and National Museum of Mexican Art’s Yollocalli Arts Reach.
With the 2025 Diamond Impact Awards, CWSC’s total charitable giving now exceeds $50 million – a milestone achievement in its ongoing mission to make Chicago a better place to live, work and play beyond the diamond.
The White Sox Volunteer Corps unites fans through meaningful service opportunities throughout Chicagoland. Founded in 2009 in response to a national call for Americans to strengthen their communities through service, the VC has spent 16 years making a lasting impact beyond the diamond. Since its inception, more than 17,000 White Sox fans have participated in over 850 events, contributing 68,400 hours of services – representing more than $1.6 million in labor. As the Volunteer Corps continues to grow, so does its commitment to building a stronger, more connected Chicago.
