Here are Tuesday's top prospect performances from the Minors

May 28th, 2025

Roman Anthony, MLB's top overall prospect, got things going early in the night with a leadoff homer, but he wasn't the only talented phenom to deliver a standout performance. From Alex Freeland's two-homer game to Ryan Ritter's monstrous power surge, there was plenty of action to go around as Minor League Baseball inches toward summer.

Roman Anthony, OF, Worcester (BOS No. 1/MLB No. 1)
After going 19 consecutive games without a homer, Anthony has gone deep three times in his past seven contests, including a pair of leadoff jacks. The 21-year-old took the second pitch of the game out of the yard at 115.5 mph, added an RBI groundout, a walk and two runs scored to his ledger. Anthony is batting .349 in May and is slashing .320/.452/.529 overall with 18 extra-base hits. He leads all Triple-A players with 43 walks for Worcester. Gameday

Josue De Paula, OF, Great Lakes (LAD No. 2/MLB No. 33)
De Paula snapped out of a 4-for-33 funk immediately, launching his first leadoff homer of the season and his eighth overall. The 20-year-old added two more singles and a walk during his perfect evening at the plate, giving him his first three-hit contest since May 10. The performance lifted De Paula's OPS to .898 on the strength of 17 extra-base hits and 34 walks, the second-highest total in the High-A Midwest League. Gameday

Jeferson Quero, C, Arizona Complex League Brewers (MIL No. 2/MLB No. 41)
Quero took another step toward affiliated Minor League action during a big offensive night as he continues his rehab assignment in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 22-year-old slugged his third long ball and erupted for four hits and four RBIs. Quero had just one plate appearance in 2024 thanks to a torn labrum in his shoulder, and his 2025 start was delayed due to a hamstring strain. Gameday

Alex Freeland, SS/3B, Oklahoma City (LAD No. 4/MLB No. 48)
Freeland went deep twice for his first multihomer game of the year to maintain a recent uptick in slugging. The Central Florida product homered just twice in his first 118 at-bats this season, but has left the yard three times in his past 12 ABs. Freeland drove in five runs and scored twice during his fourth three-hit game of 2025, and he'll carry an .825 OPS into his next performance. Gameday

Arjun Nimmala, SS, Vancouver (TOR No. 1/MLB No. 59)
Nimmala keeps rolling along offensively in the High-A Northwest League. The 19-year-old equaled a season high with three hits (including a double), drove in a run, scored once and swiped his fourth base of the year. Nimmala has hit safely in five consecutive games and seven of eight overall to lift his OPS to .917. His nine homers are second on the circuit behind Lazaro Montes (SEA No. 2/MLB No. 36), who has 10. Gameday

Tommy White, 3B, Lansing (ATH No. 7)
White continues to thrive during his first full-season campaign as a pro. Last year's 40th overall Draft pick got off to a slow start during his debut season and the beginning of 2025, but he has been on a tear despite missing time with a knee laceration. White clubbed his sixth homer, doubled and fell a triple shy of the cycle during his third three-hit contest of the season. The LSU product is slashing .317/.401/.558 with 17 extra-base hits in 31 games for High-A Lansing. Gameday

Alex Clemmey, LHP, Wilmington (WSH No. 5)
Clemmey's strong month took another positive turn during arguably the best performance of his pro career. The 19-year-old struck out nine and allowed just two hits across six scoreless frames for High-A Wilmington. Clemmey's ERA in May dropped to 1.59 and 3.54 overall in 10 starts. The Massachusetts native has held opposing batters to a .193 average and is averaging 12.8 K/9 for the Blue Rocks. Gameday

Ryan Ritter, SS, Albuquerque (COL No. 12)
Ritter's power surge rolled on with two more homers, giving the Kentucky product five in his past 11 at-bats after he went yard three times on Sunday. The 24-year-old entered May with four long balls but has matched Jac Caglianone (KC No. 1/MLB No. 10) with 10 jacks in 83 at-bats this month, during which he's slashed .373/.429/.904 with a whopping 22 extra-base hits and 24 RBIs. Gameday

Joe Whitman, LHP, Richmond (SF No. 7)
The 23-year-old southpaw has been one of the Minors' top hurlers in May, and that continued with his one of his finest performances of the season. Coming off an 11-strikeout effort in a rain-shortened outing last Wednesday, Whitman equaled a career high with seven scoreless frames to lower his ERA in May to 1.55. It's been quite a turnaround for the Kent State product, who has lowered his ERA from 7.53 at the end of April to 3.53. Whitman has a 49-to-16 K/BB ratio, a 1.08 WHIP and is holding opponents to a .200 average. Gameday
