Rangers Recall RHP Caleb Boushley From Triple-A Round Rock, Option RHP Dane Dunning To Triple-A Round Rock

Boushley has pitched in 15 games over three stints with Texas this year

Houston, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Friday night’s series opener against Houston at Daikin Park:

  • Right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

The 31-year-old Boushley will be in his fourth stint with the Rangers this season (also April 8-27, May 1-15, May 18-June 23), registering a 5.04 ERA (17 ER/30.1 IP) with 29 strikeouts against 5 walks in 15 relief appearances for Texas. His most recent Major League outing came on June 22 at Pittsburgh when he permitted 5 earned runs over 4.0 innings of relief in an 8-3 Rangers defeat. Boushley has 9 relief outings of at least 2.0 innings this season – tied for the team lead with LHP Jacob Latz and tied for 4th-most in the American League. The right-hander has spent the balance of the campaign at Triple-A Round Rock, going 0-1 with a 1.17 ERA (2 ER/15.1 IP) in 4 games/starts. His last game action came in a start for the Express on June 28 vs. Tacoma (4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 SO, 84 pitches/47 strikes).

Dunning, 30, has posted no record with 2 saves, a 3.38 ERA (4 ER/10.2 IP), 10 strikeouts, and a .231 (9-39) opponent batting average in 5 relief outings spanning three stints with the Rangers this season: April 28-29, June 23-26, July 1-10. He last appeared during Texas’ 11-4 win over the Angels on Thursday night in Anaheim, recording the final two outs in the 9th inning (0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R-ER, 1 SO, 1 HR). Dunning has spent most of the season at Triple-A Round Rock, going 2-1 with a 4.47 ERA (23 ER/46.1 IP) over 12 games/11 starts for the Express in 2025.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at 39 players on the club’s Major League roster, along with four players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
