Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions:
- Infielder Justin Foscue recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
- Infielder/outfielder Michael Helman optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Foscue, 26, is making his second appearance on Texas’ 26-man roster this season after appearing in 3 games with the Rangers from June 21-July 4. The right-handed-hitting infielder went 1-for-6 with one double and 2 RBI at the plate and converted all 7 chances across two starts at first base during his first stint with Texas in 2025. He has spent most of the season at Triple-A Round Rock, slashing .262/.353/.471/.824 (54-206) with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, 37 RBI, 27 walks, and 37 runs scored in 52 games with the Express. Foscue started 2 games for Round Rock, both at second base, since being optioned on July 5, going 1-for-9 with one walk and 3 runs scored on July 10-11 vs. Albuquerque. The Huntsville, Ala. native has logged 18 games for the Rangers over the last 2 seasons, owning a .063 average (3-48) with 3 RBI.
The 29-year-old Helman went 0-for-4 with 2 walks, one stolen base, and 2 runs scored in 5 games/2 starts during his first stint on the Rangers’ Major League roster after being recalled from Round Rock on June 27. He registered 2 starts in centerfield and appeared as a defensive replacement at shortstop on July 8 at Los Angeles-AL. The utility player has batted .214 (3-14) with 2 doubles and 4 runs scored in 14 career MLB games with Minnesota (2024) and Texas (2025).
Additionally, infielder Jake Burger was placed on the 10-day Injured List yesterday, retroactive to July 13, with a left quad strain. Burger last saw game action with Texas on July 12 at Houston as a pinch-hitter, striking out in his lone plate appearance. He was lifted from the game on July 11 at Houston in the 6th inning due to the left quad injury. The 29-year-old has batted .228/.259/.401/.660 (62-272) with 11 home runs and 35 RBI in 75 games for the Rangers this season.
With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at 39 players on the club’s Major League roster, along with four players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List. Texas’ active roster stands at 25 players, as the club is expected to fill out its 26-man roster with a roster move preceding tomorrow evening’s series opener vs. Detroit.
