Rangers Recall 3B Josh Jung, INF/OF Michael Helman, And RHP Cole Winn From Triple-A Round Rock

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Monday night’s series opener against the Athletics at Globe Life Field:

  • Third baseman Josh Jung recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Infielder/outfielder Michael Helman recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Right-handed pitcher Cole Winn recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Right-handed pitcher Chris Martin placed on 15-day Injured List (left calf strain).
  • Infielder Justin Foscue optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Outfielder Alejandro Osuna optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

The 27-year-old Jung, who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on July 2, recorded a hit in 7 of his 8 games for the Express from July 8-20, including 2 home runs, 2 doubles, 4 RBI and a .410 slugging percentage. This will mark Jung’s 2nd stint on the Rangers’ active roster this season, joining his previous stint from Opening Day-July 1. In 75 games for the Rangers in 2025, Jung has slashed .237/.283/.366/.649 (66-279) with 8 home runs, 10 doubles, and 35 RBI. The right-handed batter and thrower has made 73 starts for Texas this season at third base (72) and designated hitter (1).

Helman, 29, will be embarking on his second stint on the Rangers’ active roster this season after appearing in 5 games for Texas, June 27-July 16, including defensive appearances in centerfield (3 games/2 starts) and shortstop (one game). The utilityman went 7-for-15 (.467) with one home run, one triple, one double, and 4 RBI in 3 games, Friday-Sunday, while on option with the Express. Since being acquired via waiver claim by Texas on May 19, Helman has batted .270 (37-137) with 6 home runs and 25 RBI in 33 games for Round Rock.

Winn is on Texas' active roster for the 3rd time this season (also May 15-17, May 20-June 30), as the 25-year-old right-hander has gone 0-1 with a 1.59 ERA (3 ER/17.0 IP) in 13 relief outings with the Rangers in 2025. He appeared in 4 games with Round Rock since being optioned by Texas on July 1, allowing 2 earned runs in 6.1 innings (2.84 ERA). Winn last pitched on Friday at Las Vegas, throwing 25 pitches in a 1.0-inning relief appearance.

Martin, 39, left Sunday's game vs. Detroit with Rangers head athletic trainer Matt Lucero after allowing a run-scoring single to Matt Vierling in the 8th inning. In 39 relief appearances for Texas this season, the right-hander is 1-6 with a 2.36 ERA (9 ER/34.1 IP), ranking among qualified A.L. relievers in strikeouts-per-walk ratio (T3rd, 6.00) and ERA (12th).

Foscue appeared once for Texas after being recalled from Round Rock on Thursday, going hitless in 3 at-bats in a start at first base Sunday vs. Detroit. The 26-year-old infielder is 1-for-9 with one double and 2 RBI in 4 games across 2 stints with Texas this year (June 21-July 4, July 17-20).

Osuna, 22, has batted .164 (11-67) with one home run, one double, 5 RBI, and 12 walks over 29 games in his first career Major League action since having his contract selected on May 25. The Ahome, Mexico native has spent the balance in the minor leagues this season, batting .279 (43-154) over 39 games with Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with four players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
