Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Wednesday’s series finale against Toronto at Globe Life Field:

  • Shortstop Corey Seager activated from 10-day Injured List (right hamstring strain).
  • Infielder Blaine Crim optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Seager, 31, missed Texas’ last 16 games with a right hamstring strain, as the club went 8-8 in his recent absence. The shortstop has logged two stints on the 10-day Injured List with the same injury this season (April 23-May 2, May 11-27), appearing in only 5 of the Rangers’ last 33 contests since April 23. Seager took live batting practice and participated in infield drills on both Saturday at Rate Field in Chicago and Monday at Globe Life Field.

In 26 games with Texas this year, the left-handed hitter is batting .300/.346/.520/.866 (30-100) with 6 home runs, 4 doubles, 12 RBI, 7 walks, and 15 runs scored, ranking 10th in the A.L. in batting average and 13th in slugging percentage (min. 100 AB). He has reached safely in 16 of his last 17 games since April 8 at a .362 (25-69) clip, raising his season batting average from .161 to .300 during the span. The Rangers are 15-11 when Seager appears in 2025 and average 3.85 runs per game with him in the lineup (12-18 record, 2.83 runs per game without Seager). An 11-year MLB veteran and 5-time All-Star, Seager is in his 4th season with Texas after signing a 10-year free agent contract on 12/1/21, hitting .281 with 102 home runs and 265 RBI during his Rangers tenure (2022-25).

The 27-year-old Crim did not appear for the Rangers since he was recalled prior to Monday’s game vs. Toronto. He saw his first career Major League action earlier this season after his contract was selected from Round Rock on May 2, going 0-for-11 with one walk, one run, and 6 strikeouts over 5 games/3 starts from May 2-11. Crim has hit .294 (47-160) with 10 home runs and 38 RBI in 39 games with Round Rock in 2025, his sixth season in the Texas organization after being selected in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from Mississippi College.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
