Outfielder Randy Arozarena Named to American League All-Star Team

Arozarena earns his second All-Star nod, giving Seattle 5 selections to the 2025 Midsummer Classic

July 11th, 2025

DETROIT, Mich. – Major League Baseball announced today that Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena has been named to the American League roster for the 95th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. Arozarena will replace teammate Julio Rodríguez on the AL roster.

Arozarena, 30, is the Mariners 5th All-Star this season, joining Rodríguez, Andrés Muñoz, Bryan Woo and AL starting catcher Cal Raleigh in this year’s Midsummer Classic. It marks just the 5th time Seattle has had at least 5 players selected to the All-Star Game, and the most since they also sent 5 in 2002.

Arozarena is an All-Star for the 2nd time in his career, also being selected to the Midsummer Classic in 2023 at T-Mobile Park. He was the starting left fielder for the AL in 2023, going 1-for-2 at the plate. He also was the runner-up in the 2023 Home Run Derby, losing out to champion Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the final round.

The Cuban-born outfielder is batting .247 (83x336) with 20 doubles, 1 triple, 15 home runs, 44 RBI and 15 stolen bases this season. He has gotten on base at a .354 clip, slugging .446 for a .800 OPS. He has been red hot over his past 10 games, batting .297 (11x37) with 7 home runs, 11 RBI and a 1.190 OPS. He has been one of the most valuable outfielders in the American League this season, ranking 4th in the American League in Baseball-Reference WAR (3.2) and 5th in OPS+ (133).

The 2021 AL Rookie of the Year has appeared in parts of 7 Major League seasons with St. Louis (2019), Tampa Bay (2020-24) and Seattle (2025-c). He has reached the 20 home run, 20 stolen base mark in each of the last 4 seasons, 1 of only 2 players to do so (also: José Ramírez-CLE). Arozarena is on pace to become the 9th player in MLB history with 5+-consecutive 20-20 seasons.

Arozarena burst onto the scene during the Tampa Bay Rays run to the 2020 World Series, when they lost in 6 games. He was named American Legue Championship Series MVP after batting .321 with 4 homers. Overall in the 2020 Postseason, Arozarena crushed an MLB single-season record 10 home runs. Arozarena also helped lead Team Mexico to the 2023 World Baseball Classic semifinal, before losing to eventual champions Team Japan. He was named to the All-Tournament team for his efforts.
