He was originally selected by the Athletics in the 1st round (24th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft from Plano West High School.

The 25-year-old Winn has gone 0-1 with a 1.59 ERA (3 ER/17.0 IP) over 13 relief appearances for Texas this season. He yielded 4 runs (3 earned) across 3.0 IP during his last 2 outings, Friday and Sunday vs. Seattle, after a season-opening 11-game scoreless streak. The right-hander has spent the balance of the campaign with Round Rock, as he has not allowed an earned run over 12 games (23.1 IP) for the Express.

Mahle, 30, was placed on the 15-day Injured List on June 15 (retroactive to June 12) and has missed the Rangers' last 17 games. In 14 starts for Texas this year, the right-hander is 6-3 with a 2.34 ERA (20 ER/77.0 IP), 56 strikeouts, and a 1.13 WHIP.
