Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against Arizona at Globe Life Field:
- Outfielder Evan Carter activated from 10-day Injured List.
- Outfielder Adolis García placed on 10-day Injured List (left ankle sprain).
Carter, 22, missed the Rangers’ last 10 games while on the 10-day Injured List with back spasms, as Texas went 4-6 in his absence. It marked the left-handed-hitting outfielder’s second stint on the 10-day Injured List this season, joining his May 17-June 2 stay due to a right quad strain. Carter appeared in one game on injury rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco last night vs. Midland, going 0-for-2 with a pair of walks and one hit by pitch.
Over his last 40 games for the Rangers dating back to June 8, Carter has batted .262/.350/.429/.778 (33-126) with 3 home runs, 2 triples, 8 doubles, and 18 RBI, with Texas going 25-15 over that stretch. All 44 of his defensive starts this season have come in centerfield, with the Rangers going 27-17 in those games. The former 2020 2nd-round pick is in his third Major League season, having compiled a .230/.319/.417/.736 (86-374) slash line with 14 home runs and 48 RBI in 123 career games.
García has started 115 of Texas’ 121 games this season, including in 55 straight contests since June 10. The 32-year-old outfielder is hitting .224/.266/.388/.655 (98-438) with 16 home runs, 24 doubles, 64 RBI, 10 stolen bases, 24 walks, and 122 strikeouts, leading the club in doubles and RBI. This marks García’s second career regular season stint on the Injured List, first since September 8-18 of 2023 (10-day, right patellar tendon strain).
With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
