Brewers Name Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for June

Adams Named Player of the Month; Crow Selected as Pitcher of the Month

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Luke Adams as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Coleman Crow as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for June.

The Brewers also named first baseman/catcher Jonathan Rangel as Complex League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Griffin Tobias as Complex League Pitcher of the Month.

Adams, 21, batted .300 (15-for-50) with 2 doubles, 5 HR, 13 RBI and 14 runs in 14 games for Double-A Biloxi in June. He drew 8 walks and was hit by 7 pitches in June to reach base at a .462 clip.

Ranked as Milwaukee’s No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Adams posted a .640 slugging percentage and a 1.102 OPS to help the Shuckers to a 17-8 (.680) record in June, Biloxi’s third-best winning percentage in a month in franchise history. He was named Southern League Player of the Week for June 2-8 after batting .471 (8-for-17) with 3 HR and 6 RBI in 5 games, including homering in three straight games from June 5-7.

Crow, 24, went 3-0 with a 1.06 ERA (17ip, 2er) in 3 starts for Biloxi in June before earning a promotion to Triple-A Nashville on June 18. He struck out 24 batters and issued just 1 walk over his 17.0 innings with the Shuckers and posted a 0.59 WHIP and a .155 batting average against (9-for-58).

Acquired by the Brewers from New York-NL in exchange for right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor on December 20, 2023, Crow earned Southern League Pitcher of the Week for June 2-8 for his performance on June 7 vs. Montgomery in which he tossed 6.0 scoreless innings and allowed just 1 hit with no walks and 9 strikeouts.

Rangel, 18, batted .289/.408/.684 (11-for-38) with 2 doubles, 5 triples, 1 HR, 13 RBI and 9 runs in 13 games for the Rookie DSL Brewers Gold in June.

Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela in January 2024, Rangel led the organization in triples for the month and ranked second in the Dominican Summer League. He made 8 starts at first base and 5 starts at catcher for the DSL Brewers Gold in June. The starts behind the plate were the first of his professional career.

Tobias, 19, posted a 2.96 ERA (24.1ip, 8er) with just 1 walk and 20 strikeouts (1.03 WHIP) over 5 appearances for the Rookie ACL Brewers in June. Each of his relief outings lasted at least 3.0 innings, including working 5.0 or more innings in his last 4 appearances of the month.

Selected in the ninth round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Lake Central High School in Indiana, Tobias recorded his first professional save on June 3 vs. the ACL Cubs.
