MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers are proud to support Major League Baseball’s league-wide initiative, Play Ball Weekend, on Saturday, June 14 at 9 a.m. where Brewers pitchers Quinn Priester and Rob Zastryzny will join alumni Jerry Augustine, Tim Dillard, Jim Gantner and Vinny Rottino welcoming hundreds of youths from around the state of Wisconsin to Baran Park. The activities include hosting a morning filled with baseball and softball activities as well as MLB alums Daryl Boston, Lewis Brinson, Brian Barton and Trenidad Hubbard onsite to host The Players Alliance Level Up Lab.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley will join the annual event to offer remarks and help get the clinics underway. Joining them will be Brewers Community Foundation – Executive Director Cecelia Gore, The Players Alliance Vice President for Player Engagement Todd Isaacs and Director of Athletics & Sports Facilities for Journey House, Martin Weddle. Attendees will also hear words of encouragement from Priester and Zastryzny.

Following brief remarks, youth participants will be invited to rotate through four different stations including home run derby, agility, fielding pop-ups and grounders, running the bases, and a bat and ball game. Participants will each receive a bat and ball set, a Brewers item and light refreshments.

Through Play Ball Weekend, all 30 Major League Baseball teams work to connect with youth and share the love of the game, how baseball can be an outlet for physical activity and a path to build positive relationships. To start the Play Ball Weekend on Friday, June 13, the Milwaukee Brewers will partner with The Players Alliance to host Equip the Future, an initiative focused on mentorship and development for young athletes. More than 30 RBI participants will be invited for meaningful conversations around the mental, social and emotional aspects of the game. Brewers pitcher Aaron Ashby and members of the Brewers Baseball Operations team will join the event to share insights and guidance.
