July 6th, 2025

SEATTLE – Major League Baseball announced today that Mariners outfielder Julio Rodríguez, right-handed pitcher Andrés Muñoz, and right-handed pitcher Bryan Woo have been named to the American League roster for the 95th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.

Rodríguez, Muñoz, and Woo will join AL starting catcher Cal Raleigh in this year’s Midsummer Classic, marking the first time Seattle has sent at least 4 players to the All-Star Game since 2018.

The Mariners have landed 4 All-Stars age 28-or-younger for the first time in franchise history: Raleigh (age 28), Muñoz (26), Woo (25), and Rodríguez (24).

Muñoz, 26, has been named to his second consecutive All-Star Game, after earning the first All-Star bid of his career last season. In 34 appearances this season, Muñoz is 3-1 with 20 saves, a 1.09 ERA (4 ER, 32.0 IP), 13 walks and 44 strikeouts. He has held opponents to a .136 average with a 0.85 WHIP. He leads AL relievers in ERA (min. 30.0 IP).

The Los Mochis, Mexico native was named the American League Reliever of the Month for March/April, after going 1-0 with 11 saves, a 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 15.0 IP), 6 walks (2 IBB) and 19 strikeouts. He limited opponents to a .106 (5x47) average and 0 extra-base hits. Muñoz did not allow an earned run in his first 23.2 IP spanning 24 games (March 27-May 29), setting a franchise record for most consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to begin a season. He also set the Mariners record for most consecutive scoreless appearances to begin a season with 16, before teammate Matt Brash began his season with 19 consecutive scoreless outings.

Muñoz is just the second relief pitcher in Mariners history to make multiple All-Star Games with Seattle, joining Kazuhiro Sasaki (2x, 2001-02). He is one of 5 pitchers in franchise history to be named to multiple All-Star teams, joining Félix Hernández (6x, 2009, 2011-15), Randy Johnson (5x, 1990, 1993-95, 1997), Freddy García (2x, 2001-02) and Sasaki.

Rodríguez, 24, has been named an All-Star for the third time in his Major League career, also representing the Mariners at the 2022 and 2023 All-Star Games.

The center fielder is batting .247 (90x364) with 53 runs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 11 home runs, 43 RBI and 15 stolen bases. He ranks 2nd among AL outfielders with 3.4 WAR (Baseball-Reference) behind only Aaron Judge-NYY.

The Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic native has been among the best defensive center fielders in MLB, tied for most defensive runs saved (12) among AL center fielders.

Rodríguez is 1 of 6 active players to make at least 3 All-Star Games in his first 4 MLB seasons and the first since Francisco Lindor (2016-18). He is also the third Mariners player to accomplish that feat, joining Hall of Famers Ichiro Suzuki (4x, 2001-04) and Ken Griffey Jr. (3x, 1990-92). Rodríguez is also the 7th player to make at least 3 All-Star teams with the Mariners, joining Ken Griffey Jr. (10x, 1990-99), Ichiro Suzuki (10x, 2001-10), Edgar Martinez (7x, 1992, 1995-97, 2000-03), Alex Rodriguez (4x, 1996-98, 2000), Robinson Canó (3x, 2014, 2016-17) and Nelson Cruz (3x, 2015, 2017-18).

Woo, 25, is 8-4 with a 2.77 ERA (33 ER, 107.1 IP) with 104 strikeouts and 19 walks this season. It marks his first career All-Star selection, and the third consecutive season the Mariners have landed a starting pitcher in the Midsummer Classic (2023: RHP Luis Castillo & RHP George Kirby; 2024: RHP Logan Gilbert).

Woo is 1 of 2 MLB pitchers with a sub-3.00 ERA, 100+ strikeouts and 20-or-fewer walks this season, along with defending AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal-DET. Woo has gone at least 6.0 innings in all 17 of his outings this season, most in the Majors and two more such outings than any other pitcher.

The Mariners selected Woo in the 6th round of the 2021 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Cal Poly. Heading into this season, only two players selected in the 2021 Draft had made an MLB All-Star Game: Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill and Athletics right-handed pitcher Mason Miller.
