DODGERS SIGN CHRIS STRATTON
LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers signed right-handed pitcher Chris Stratton and optioned right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller. In order to make room for Stratton on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated right-handed pitcher J.P. Feyereisen for assignment.
Stratton, 34, was designated for assignment on May 18 by the Royals and released on May 22. He made 12 appearances, allowing 15 earned runs in 17 innings. He had been with the Royals two seasons, going 4-3 with a 6.09 ERA and 60 strikeouts. The 2023 World Series Champion has been in the Majors 10 seasons with the San Francisco Giants (2016-18), Los Angeles Angels (2019), Pittsburgh Pirates (2019-22), St. Louis Cardinals (2022-23), Texas Rangers (2023) and Royals (2024-25), going 41-27 with a 4.63 ERA in 371 games. He was originally drafted in the first round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft by the Giants out of Mississippi State University.
Miller, 26, pitched two innings last night, allowing one run. On the campaign, he has given up seven runs in five innings with seven strikeouts. He has made 36 starts for the Dodgers in his career, posting a 13-8 record with a 5.44 ERA in 185.1 innings. In 2023, he recorded 11 wins and struck out 119 batters in 124.1 innings. He was drafted in the first round of the 2020 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisville.
