DODGERS SELECT LOU TRIVINO
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Lou Trivino and placed right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates on the injured list with a right hamstring strain.
Trivino, 33, made 11 appearances for the Giants before getting designated for assignment on May 5. He went 1-0 with a 5.84 ERA in 12.1 innings and 11 strikeouts. He has been in the Major Leagues parts of six seasons with the Athletics (2018-22), New York Yankees (2022) and San Francisco Giants (2025), firing 297 innings with a 22-25 mark and a 3.94 ERA. He signed as a minor league free agent with the Dodgers on May 11 and made one appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Yates, 38, heads to the injured list for the first time this season. He is 3-2 with a 4.34 ERA in 22 games for the Dodgers. In 444 career games with the Tampa Bay Rays (2014-15), New York Yankees (2016), Los Angeles Angels (2017), San Diego Padres (2017-20), Atlanta Braves (2022-23), Texas Rangers (2024) and Dodgers (2025), he is 29-23 with 96 saves and 602 strikeouts in 430 innings. The Hawaii native was signed by the Rays as an undrafted free agent on June 22, 2009.
