DODGERS RECALL MATT SAUER

LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-hander Matt Sauer and designated right-handed pitcher José Ureña for assignment.

Sauer, 26, returns for his fourth stint with the club and he is 1-0 with 3.05 ERA in seven games. Last season, he made his Major League debut as a member of the Kansas City Royals and went 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA in 14 games. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the second round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of Ernest Righetti High School (Santa Maria, Calif.).

Ureña, 33, pitched in two games for the Dodgers, allowing one run in three innings. He came from the Toronto Blue Jays where he made six appearances, going 0-0 with a 3.65 ERA. He started the season with the New York Mets, making one appearance and allowing five runs in 3.0 innings. He has been in the Majors 11 seasons with the Miami Marlins (2015-20), Detroit Tigers (2021), Milwaukee Brewers (2022), Colorado Rockies (2022-23), Chicago White Sox (2023), Texas Rangers (2024), Mets (2025), Blue Jays (2025) and Dodgers, going 44-77 with a 4.78 ERA in 241 games.
